Flint RNLI volunteers were tasked by UK Coastguard at 06:32am this morning (Sunday 21 August) to reports of a tent pitched at the waters edge near Connahs Quay Dock and quickly becoming surrounded by water.
Flint lifeboat launched at Connah’s Quay Dock and made the short journey to its position, where it was confirmed that the tent was empty and showed no signs of recent occupancy.
It was a perfect evening for a training exercise ☀️🚤 Having West Kirby join us gave us an ideal opportunity to practice towing scenarios as well as share local knowledge between the crews

With the #heatwave set to continue, the @RNLI is urging people to take care when visiting the coast. If you see someone in trouble, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. Lots of other useful advice here👇
As the #heatwave intensifies over the next few days, here’s some really good advice from @RNLI water safety manager @GabbiSimmonds ☀️
If you're heading to the coast to cool off during this #heatwave, remember to visit a lifeguarded beach, swim between the red and yellow flags and if you get in trouble in the water #FloatToLive #ArnofiwchiFyw👇
