Elon Musk poured roughly $474 million into MAGA politics, betting on Trump and his movement. Then came the midterms, his political investments got their asses kicked, and the markets started delivering their own verdict.
On Wednesday, Tesla and SpaceX reportedly lost nearly $100 billion in combined market value, including roughly $33 billion from Musk’s personal paper fortune. That’s about $70 wiped off his wealth for every dollar he spent on politics.
And today, Thursday, November 5, at 10:03 a.m., Tesla was down another 9.05%, trading at $350.33, while SpaceX was down 7.44%, at $125.81.
But forget the money for a moment. Here’s what I genuinely cannot comprehend.
How the fuck did Elon Musk think he was going to reach the stars riding in a MAGA box?
A movement full of people obsessed with the past, hostile to progress, suspicious of science and technology, trapped in tribal bullshit, and fighting against so much of what he supposedly dreams of building.
You’re dreaming about colonizing Mars while hitching your future to people who want to drag humanity backward. How the fuck do you build rockets capable of reaching space but fail to calculate something so fundamentally obvious?
You had the technology, the resources, the money, and the ambition to take humanity to the stars. And you decided the MAGA diesel clown truck was your launch vehicle.
Elon, you wanted to take humanity into the future. How the hell did you end up buying yourself a ticket to the past? 🚀
