So vehicle mounted jumpjets might not be practical for commuting. However I am interested to see if this tech can be developed for stuff like helping helicopters make controlled emergency landings, or as a safety measure to prevent 18 wheelers from tipping over.

Hardface welding is an interesting potential option for sci fi gear when you want a touch of future primitive or some similar vibe.
