Hamilton drove a solid, quiet race, really happy. Pace was good.
Can’t think of anything else that happened though.
Quite uneventful, no drama. Didn’t really battle anyone wheel to wheel, off the top of my head.
Right?
Hamilton and Russell doing everything they can to delay this Antonelli title.
Bit late to the party fellas🤣
This is a crazy accusation by the way. Thinking I would ever use that word, towards anyone.
Honestly can’t believe what I’m dealing with.

Wanting to switch to CI doesn’t mean he isn’t capable of driving with Brembo. Dont confuse the two.
It is just something he will always do. I also don’t believe anyone could foresee the consequences that came with it regarding the Brembo failures after.
Again, Hamilton’s lack of pace in 2025 had nothing to do with Brembo. He simply failed to extract the pace from the car that Leclerc did. Simple as that. Even with CI brakes, Leclerc would’ve been faster.
I can easily admit that as a Hamilton fan - and I know when I look at the data Brembo were not the reason Hamilton was slow.
Bottom line is, Hamilton absolutely would be fine with Brembo gun to his head.
Ideally, Ferrari find a way to accommodate CI for Lewis and Brembo for Charles so this discussion can end.
They’re calling you finished
They’re saying you don’t care
They’re calling for Colton Herta
Your career is on the line
One last dance.
What do you have in store for us this weekend, Mr Bottas?
These people live in their own world. If Hamilton was unable to drive with Brembo, he’d be working at McDonalds as he worked with them his entire junior career. He first used CI brakes in 2007 itself 🤣
He did all of 2013 on Brembo discs and beat Rosberg with it. If he couldn’t, he’d have been fired and retired with 1xWDC to his name.
Even last year, you can look at any telemetry from any lap from 2025, braking was not Hamilton’s problem either.
If you think it was you’re either horribly informed or just know nothing about the sport. Take your pick.
Replying to @nostalgiablinds
his new bullshit is claiming there is evidence of hamilton performing just as well with brembos as with ci. crazy the shit these people make up and just gets accepted
Even though I agree with Alonso, I’m not sure what he gains from this. There is no upside.
Can’t help but feel this should be a behind closed doors matter.
Hamilton would be equally as fast if you put Brembo discs on the car. There is a lot of data on his braking performance alone across using both to back this up. Even in 2025, it was the one thing that didn’t go south.
I knew this already from 13’-14’ but he has always been extremely fussy about this. He will push for CI no matter what.
He did his entire junior career with Brembo, and did all of 2013 with them.
He first used CI brakes in 2007 itself, for those who didn’t know. If he couldn’t actually drive with Brembo, he’d be working at McDonald’s.
It’s obvious as to why a casual, misinformed fan (most of them) would think this because Hamilton was slow last year, and not this year. Naturally, you’d link the two together.
However, Hamilton being slow last year had nothing to do with Brembo. He simply failed to adapt to the ultra high-speed demands of the late GE era in general. His issues from 2024 rolled over and compounded in 2025, nothing more to it.
Whether he was physically unable to adapt, or refused to change too much due to preserving his muscle memory - only he will know. Not the point of this post either, so I digress.
Even I forget this sometimes, but we saw it in Australia and China as well when he used the full Brembo version of the car.
His speed is clearly not constrained by his choice of brake disc.
You may think it’s only a sample of 2 races, but to me it a continued observation of his entire career. I know he’s the same with both.
Conversely, if you put CI brakes on the SF-25 he’d not have been any quicker (see 2024 Mercedes).
Hamilton CI = Hamilton Brembo - it’s just that Hamilton is extremely fussy when it comes to using Brembo.
I don’t know if they have some kind of beef from the past, but it is what it is.
They’ll be fine with either. I’ve managed to go back through most of the cornering data, not just from this year but across a lot of teams faced with this same dilemma - and there is a lot of evidence to suggest brake supplier merely affects morale, not actual performance.
Hamilton and Leclerc’s raw braking performance relative to each other has stayed constant across their time as teammates - suggesting it’s purely a question of morale.
Hamilton braking performance alone was still incredibly strong in 2025, and Leclerc’s has also been strong in 2026. We’ve not had a Ricciardo/Raikkonen esque drop off in either case.
Hamilton seems to be slightly more sensitive about this topic than any driver on the grid - history will tell us the same from the Mercedes years. I sense that Hamilton would be more upset with running Brembo discs than Leclerc would be running CI discs.
He openly hated Brembo in 2013 but was still fast with them. He also did his entire junior career with them, out of curiosity. Leclerc hasn’t been negative at all about CI, so that alone would back this up.
They found themselves in the worst case this year, where they could only make the change mid-season rather than toward the end of 2025.
Now they have had all of 2026, hopefully whatever they conjure up for 2027 will be perfectly optimised for whatever challenge they face.
