We urge residents to use caution and stay off roads unless absolutely necessary. Please do not attempt to drive through standing water. Turn around, find an alternate route and never underestimate the depth or power of floodwaters.
Swales, retention ponds, canals and other drainage features are designed to collect and temporarily hold stormwater. During very heavy and sustained rainfall, portions of streets also can provide temporary storage. This is a common stormwater-management approach across Florida, with the goal of directing water away from homes and buildings.
The following major roadways are currently closed, with many smaller streets around the City also closed:
📍The intersection of California and Savona boulevards
📍Port St. Lucie Boulevard and Aviation Avenue
The following roadways are being reviewed for potential road closings:
📍 SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard south of Gatlin Boulevard
📍St. Lucie West Boulevard
📍Becker Road and Savona Boulevard
