Lead planner of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers COB CSRM Project Team assured me today that all comment letters on USACE's Feasibility Study will be published. Hat's off to the City's climate team for its groundbreaking collab w/USACE. My letter to USACE: fortpointer.com/Archive/2026…

For many years, these light fixtures (photographed yesterday) mounted on the Moakley Bridge bathed the bridge in warm blue. They were handmade by the late John Powers, a wonderful sculptor & lighting designer. In pics 3 & 4, John’s lighting my Fort Point Theatre Festival (2001).

Councilors Flynn and Murphy continued their weekly late file abuse and theatrics yesterday, haranguing Clr. Breadon and wasting considerable time, winning them another Herald full page. If these foul tactics are how kids learn about democracy, god help us. universalhub.com/2026/counci…

Page 2 of the legal threat made to the Andrew Square Civic Association on Monday. Just when you thought free speech was a constitutional right, attorneys seemingly shut a Southie community group's presentation down.
BREAKING: According to South Boston Beat (and attachments linked at the bottom of its FB post), BPDA and Andrew Square Civic Association were threatened with legal action this week, if they moved fwd with a presentation of HYM's 6-acre 320 Dot Ave project. facebook.com/groups/81159427…

Love this graphic from Architecture Hub. "Paul Rudolph’s Brutalist building in downtown Boston was once slated for demolition. Now, it’s being converted into 155 apartments." facebook.com/archpng/posts/p…

Last stop in the City of Boston Deployables Day: Mayor Wu, here with Rep. Michlewitz and enviro chief Swett, celebrating a ribbon-cutting at Harbor Towers, a building that was just improved by a $20 million private investment in resiliency. Great work by Harbor Towers trustees.

At right, a deployable barrier recently completed at Martin’s Park.
Huge turnout for the City of Boston’s “Deployables Day” event, starting at Martin’s Park. Opening remarks by BPDA Chief Shen and Enviro Chief Swett.

I have much respect for Ed Gaskin & his common sense approach to this. It does matter that the city provide measurable data on BRT for Blue Hill Ave. The traffic disruption, rush hour backups, & safety issues after Cummings Hwy redo cannot be ignored for BHA
Ed Gaskin, who notes the history of Blue Hill Ave BRT planning as it related to the 2021 election (and before that), continues to ask big questions. Worth a read.

Globe’s bizarre obsession with Boston Dynamics, provable below by viewing the roughly half-dozen headlines annually over the past decade, continues today. BD is owned by Hyundai, with local competitors that never get coverage. Proof of weirdness: google.com/search?as_q=&as_e…

Heard that a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle near the top of West Broadway in South Boston last night. Can’t find any news of the accident online.

Seems possible that a cycle accident announced by BPD last night at “Melcher” and A Streets could’ve been the 9/3 incident that I witnessed at “Binford” and A Streets. 👉🏼 So either 2 or 3 total cycle incidents including motor vehicles this month.
At last night’s @FPNA_Boston meeting, BPD reported two (2) accidents involving a cyclist being struck by a motor vehicle in FP/ Seaport this past month. That’s three (3) cyclists struck by cars/trucks in Southie 02210 including the incident below, apparently not recorded by BPD.

Witnessed the aftermath of a cycle accident on A Street at Binford St yesterday. A cyclist, conscious and sitting upright with a gauze patch on his forehead, was being treated by EMS. Police (two cars) managed the scene. I’ve since heard a driver was being interviewed.
