After 13 years, 7 months and 4 days...yesterday was my last day at Nigeria Info/Wazobia/Cool FM. It's been an amazing almost 14 year journey. 💪 Joined as a single man, leaving as a husband & father of 3 😂. I'm leaving family & friendships but every good thing comes to an end. 😔 Thanks to my former boss, Tommy B who made that call back in September 2012. More thanks to my Oga @FemiCoolfm who has been a mentor, rock & friend. My (ex) CEO, Serge for taking a chance on me & made me a Manager almost 7 years ago. My colleagues, past & present, y'all are the real MVPs. I couldn't have made it this far without my wife @chizzywhyte88 & kids who bore the brunt of my late nights & absence... Here's to a brighter future for us all...

For the last two years, the Trump Administration has been governed by a simple mantra: “We can just do things.” On Tuesday, voters replied, “So can we,” and wiped out the GOP. This was not a blue wave. This was not a blue tsunami. This was the breakup of a winning coalition. Those voters, in breaking up the coalition, treated downballot races as proxies for their contempt of Washington, D.C. The race for dog catcher became nationalized because of Republican political malpractice. In 2024, Donald Trump assembled a multiracial and multiethnic coalition of voters who bristled at the progressivism of the Democrats and the wreckage of the economy. By 2026, Trump and his White House acolytes set that coalition on fire to cater to a group of hyperonline grievance mongers who have confused Twitter with real life. Last night, the American constitutional system worked as designed and worked so well and so thoroughly that the party that lied to itself in 2020 that it had lost only because the election was stolen is now lying to itself that it lost only because of gas prices and war. Last night’s drubbing was too complete to be theft. It was gas prices.
And it was the war. But it was also calling affordability a “hoax.”
And it was also the corruption.
The incompetence.
The tariffs.
The playing nice with Russia while treating our allies worse than our enemies.
The impression of cruelty.
The overly aggressive deportations.
The accidental arrests of American citizens who were Hispanic.
The arrogance.
The ballroom.
The reflecting poll.
The golf courses.
The arch.
The Qatari 747.
The aggressive redistricting push.
The threats against enemies. It turns out a weekend Fox and Friends host might not be a reassuring beacon of competence to Americans. Gas prices and the war cannot explain a wipe out from top to bottom in Texas or Georgia or losing South Carolina or Ohio or a total coast to coast wipe out. Only the simpletons can believe that. Adam Hamilton won Finney County in Kansas, which was a Trump +35 county in 2024 and he did so with Hispanic voters. He did not do that just because of war and gas prices. And shall we talk about Mississippi? A few weeks ago, Bo French in Texas attacked University of Texas students who were American citizens of Indian descent. A portion of the President’s base cheered him on. Even some within the Administration, on public Twitter accounts tied to the Administration, echoed him. Those voters’ parents repudiated the racism in the GOP and wiped out Republicans in Texas, not because they support the Democrats, but because the party they had supported turned on them. It was political malpractice by the GOP.

Liverpool have committed more fouls this season than any other team in the Premier League. Arsenal are joint 17th. Liverpool rank joint fourth in the league for yellow cards. Arsenal are joint 17th and Liverpool have one red card to Arsenal's none. Arsenal's highest entry in the most fouls committed by a player in the league is Myles Lewis Skelly at 34th, joint with Szoboszlai. There are four Liverpool players who have committed more than MLS. This is fan fic nonsense.
Sunday merely served to reinforce the belief that Liverpool as a team are far too nice. There’s a difference between being streetwise and cheating. It wasn’t pretty, but Arsenal produced a masterclass in the former in the second half on Sunday. Andoni Iraola was clear post-match that there will be a change of approach. He will tell his players to start going to ground when they are impeded in the box. It’s a sad state of affairs, but needs must. 📝 @JamesPearceLFC 🔗 bit.ly/3V3E2BJ

Declan Rice leads the Premier League for assists with five. It may seem surprising, as did him popping up on the right to set up Kai Havertz in Arsenal's win against Liverpool. But, as @zonal_marking explains, it is a new role that can be the next step in Rice’s candidature as the best midfielder around. Free to read: nyti.ms/4sKxHaY

“We knew we were going to have to navigate through periods that we were going to have to suffer because they are extremely good at doing that and creating those vertical attacks, those chaos moments from almost nothing,” said Arteta. He is happy for his team to relish that fight. This quote reminds of @ngkhalela & @deejayfaremi moaning years ago about Zidane but still won 3 CL back to back. I don't mind. – at Abuja, Nigeria
Arsenal have won eight of their nine Premier League games. Looking back to the climax of 2025-26, Arsenal have won 13 of their last 14. It feels ominous for the chasing pack. There has been no dramatic tactical overhaul — just incremental improvements to a formula that was already good enough to win the league. Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have always been built on control. The league table suggests they are more in control than ever. 📝 @gunnerblog nyti.ms/3X0R5o0

The moment y’all accepts Arsenal are just better than everyone and can beat you in any manner the sooner you guys will find peace. Stop looking at Arsenal from the lenses of the banter era days. The issue is that these men just can’t accept that the Arsenal they used to laugh at no longer exist

When he talks about composure, what comes to my mind is Madueke pulling out of a challenge late in the game. Could have conceded a penalty in that move. – at Abuja, Nigeria
"The concentration of that team across 100 minutes is like something I haven't seen since Chelsea 04/05." @J_Dyer_Official explains why this Arsenal defense could go on to achieve something very special 👏

Arsenal have built the most adaptable side in Europe. If the game requires passing football and attacking dominance, they can do it. If it requires rugged deep defending and cynicism, they can do that too. “Win in any context” telegraph.co.uk/formula-1/20…

That was an outstanding defensive performance by Arsenal, and especially by Ezri Konsa (again). He had the most clearances, the best passing accuracy, made the most tackles and spent most of the game with a £123m Frenchman in his pocket.
