A Florida mother’s work trip to Las Vegas ended with deputies waiting to arrest her at the airport.
Authorities say Irene Miller left her four children, ages 9 to 14, home without overnight adult supervision. One child later called 911 after her 9-year-old brother suffered a head injury involving a dumbbell.
Miller told deputies she arranged for a babysitter to check on the children, but the sitter did not stay overnight.
She now faces four counts of child neglect.

Kissimmee is right next door to me in Poinciana, so this one hits close. Deputies say four kids, 9 to 14, were home alone for days until a dumbbell landed on the 9-year-old's head and his sister had to call 911. A sitter stopping by in the mornings isn't supervision. Work trips happen, but if you can't line up an adult overnight, you don't get on the plane.
I don't see the problem. I watched kids overnight younger than that. I need more information. How long was she gone, did they have another adult they could call for help, was she checking in every day, were they going to school on time, was the place clean and safe, was there food, did they have money, was this something the 14 year old asked to do or something they were forced to do? So many questions.
