Acton says she couldn't have imagined going from homeless to a doctor to standing on stage as the next governor of Ohio.

wild story worth reading.
SCOOP: Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska's Senate ballot.
But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run -- as well as other candidates.

Acton starts her stump speech in Cleveland this afternoon thanking voters for their support and love over the last week.
Here in Circleville, OH where Jon Husted is here with Vivek Ramaswamy and the rest of the GOP ticket. He tells voters here that from today till Election Day, everyone at this event needs to call one person a day and make sure they get to the polls.
Vivek Ramaswamy begins his closing pitch today in Strongsville, Ohio. Talked to one GOP voter this morning who told me she's not thrilled about the ad but she's not about to "throw the baby out with the bath water"

CNN's @FoxReports tells @DanaBashCNN how Ohio voters are reacting to the incendiary attack ad against Amy Acton: "They simply sometimes just want to turn the channel when they see it because they do know this backstory."

On the ground in Ohio, Amy Acton's message in the face of a the controversial Ramaswamy ad with her estranged mother is she's not running from the trauma of her childhood: she's opening up about it. cnn.com/2026/10/22/politics/…
While you were (probably) sleeping.
For those who follow the daily polls and political trends, the floor may have just fallen out from under the Republican campaign for Ohio Governor.
And any Republican who fails to distance themselves from this ad risks taking on water as well.
I have to give Jon Husted credit. He said he would not have run the ad. That was the right response. While he stopped short of outright condemning it, he made his position clear.
Vivek Ramaswamy needs to pivot, and quickly. Stop defending the ad and start talking about his policies, his vision for Ohio, and why he believes he is the better candidate.
If he chooses to double down, I don't see anything good coming from it.
Here's what too many people in politics seem to forget:
Voters don't always elect the most qualified candidate. They often elect the candidate they like, trust, relate to, or even sympathize with.
You can have the strongest résumé, the best policies, and the most impressive background, but none of that guarantees victory if voters don't like what they see or hear.
And when voters believe someone has been treated unfairly, sympathy can become a powerful political force.
Elections aren't won simply by convincing voters that your opponent is worse. They're won by convincing voters that you're better.
That is a lesson every candidate, Republican or Democrat, would be wise to remember.
I'm also at a farm tour here in Ohio where Amy Acton just arrived. She's about to head on a farm tour.
Inside the Ohio GOP fallout after Ramaswamy doubled down on ad of Acton's estranged mother: one GOP candidate asked Ramaswamy not to air the ad and one operative told me that Republicans in the state "couldn't be more pissed"

When I was starting out covering Congress, I knew less than nothing. Laura welcomed my questions, answered them, asked me about my family, my trips, my dog, eventually my kids. She is the best of what Capitol Hill can be. I will never forget her just immense kindness to me.
Vividly remember on Jan 6 the moment Laura Lytle yelled “What about us?” down to the Capitol Police who were rushing the senators off the floor.
She and staff helped make sure reporters got evacuated alongside senators.
V grateful to her and the team.

Miller in new ad goes direct to camera about his ongoing custody battle and divorce. nitter.cf/MaxMillerOH/status/211…
Divorce is a painful reality for far too many families, and for two years, my family’s heartbreak has made national news because that is the nature of politics.
The allegations against me have been proven false time and again, and I share equal custody of my daughter. Being her father is my favorite title.
My second favorite is Congressman. I stayed in this race because I believe in Ohio’s future, its prosperity, and the people who call it home. I’m here to fight for them.
