Pope Leo XIV’s surgery to remove a “small, localized nodule” from his lung was successful and he has returned to his room in the Gemelli Hospital, according to the Holy See Press Office.
Just finished my rosary for @Pontifex. Have you prayed for him yet?
This quoted post is unavailable.
This is the crux: Cardinal Roche insists on uniformity with the Ordinary Form—but which expression of it? Francis emphasized the importance of pastors in helping the faithful to discern liturgical signs and symbols (Desiderio Desideravi, 47–49). Yet bishops restrict legitimate options within the Novus Ordo, tying their pastor’s hands! The dissonance is striking….
The problem is that our lived experience is quite the opposite. Priests of a certain age were in seminaries that had Traditional Latin Masses as part of their usual schedules. Parishes around the country housed both forms without issue. I even remember certain churchmen advocating for the TLM in every parish church! Now you’re trying to tell me that it was merely an accommodation to the SSPX?
Exclusive interview: Cardinal Roche to traditionalists: ‘You are edging yourself away from the centre of Catholicism’
In an exclusive interview with AdVaticanum, the Prefect of the Dicastery for Divine Worship speaks about his dicastery, the controversy over an Islamic chant at a Belgian university Mass, the future of Traditionis Custodes, the validity of SSPX sacraments and whether there was an appetite among bishops for change from Summorum Pontificum

Praying for you, @Pontifex!
At today's Angelus, the Pope said: ‘Dear friends, during some recent medical examinations, doctors found a small, localised nodule in my lung. It was detected at a very early stage and is well localised. The doctors believe it is advisable to remove it, so I have decided to follow their advice and undergo surgery. The operation has already been scheduled for the coming days. I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers.’

Our appetite for and habituation to violence will be our society’s downfall.
Public executions don’t teach respect for human dignity and God’s image; they make violence a spectacle for public entertainment, and they corrupt the young and innocent. In modern America, there is no need for executions — they only breed vengeance, violence and dehumanization.
Satan loves this.

I miss the crayon font. 🖍️
Today, Pope Leo XIV opened the Meeting “Ten years after Amoris laetitia: proclaiming the Gospel with families today”, in Paul VI Hall in the Vatican.

I usually listen to @PillarCatholic’s podcast on Monday mornings during my workout. I almost dropped the weight at “YOU CAN’T USE THE CRAYON FONT!”
I’m confident that @Pontifex, who many times has demonstrated his love for priests, will remedy this curiosity.

Yeah. I really miss that. I’ve always felt St Peter’s to be “the world’s parish church”. Being able to walk in at 7am, get assigned a random altar, and spend mid-morning in prayer after Mass walking amidst the beauty impacted my priesthood early on. I hope the day returns!
I hope this means priests will once again be able to celebrate Mass at the side altars of St. Peter’s Basilica.
It was always something special to know that us regular guys in the trenches could celebrate Mass in such a historic church—that it wasn’t reserved only for the Vatican elite.
The few times I did it, I was assigned an altar boy. I always thought that was a genius idea for vocations.

Pope Leo XIV exhorts the Bishops of France to care and look after their priests:
"If priestly vocations are to flourish, priests must be eagerly wanted, welcomed and loved, and their identity as men configured to Christ should also be clearly understood by the People of God, for the sake of the joy of the Gospel and its mission."
Second month of our diocesan TLM in Midland, TX, and we’ve already got a solid cohort of servers. Two of these young men will likely be in seminary next year.
Praise God for the good things He is doing.
Absolute boss.
Preaching about Blessed Fulton Sheen this weekend. He said “yes” to the Father’s invitation his entire life. May we always be like him.

These six young people with Down syndrome helped serve as altar servers at Pope Leo XIV’s historic Mass in Paris today.
We love you, @Pontifex. It’s so obvious that you actually believe what you teach. You practice what you preach. God blessed us with a good one. 🥲
