🚨🇨🇦 THE $100,000 SALARY ILLUSION. You earned $100,000 in 2019. You still earn $100,000 in 2025. But look what happened: 🏠 Home insurance: +45% 🚗 Auto insurance: +23.9% 📈 Overall inflation: +21% Now the painful math. 💰 Gross salary: $100,000 💸 Ontario taxes, CPP & EI: ~$26,000 💵 Take-home: ~$74,000 Adjusted for inflation, that take-home pay has the purchasing power of just $61,200 in 2019 dollars. And here’s the kicker: You’d need a $121,000 gross salary in 2025 just to match the purchasing power of $100,000 in 2019, BEFORE accounting for changes in taxes. Same job. Same salary. Smaller financial future. A six-figure salary hasn’t stopped being six figures. It’s just stopped buying what it used to. 🇨🇦 Welcome to Canada’s shrinking purchasing power.

Having a winter home in Florida is the dream
Interesting pitch for Canadians to move to Florida “Canada doesn’t have a cost of living problem, it’s a cost of Government problem….stop feeding the machine”

On this 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion, the national poppy campaign is underway At Toronto’s Union Station, a striking 9-metre tribute called Don’t Forget to Remember features a portrait of Allan “Scotty” Davidson, assembled from roughly 5,000 handwritten sticky notes of remembrance At 23, Scotty captained the Toronto Blueshirts (the forerunner of the Maple Leafs) to Toronto’s first Stanley Cup in 1914. He was among the first professional hockey players to enlist when war broke out, and was killed in action near Givenchy on 16 June 1915. He is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1950 The campaign raises essential funds to support veterans and their families—through transition programs, emergency assistance, and community support. More than 120,000 Canadians have given their lives in service Wear a poppy. Donate if you can. Remember. #DontForgetToRemember #PoppyCampaign #LestWeForget #RoyalCanadianLegion @RoyalCdnLegion

FRANCE: Rioters have set fire to the historic City Hall in Limoges, France, causing its roof to burn and its clock tower to collapse. Built in 1883, the 143 year old landmark survived 2 world wars and was designated a protected historical monument in 1975. It’s gone now.
