Diskursus mengenai penggunaan em dash (—) semakin memanas sejak adanya tuduhan, "Em dash itu ciri khas tulisan AI." Padahal, jauhhh sebelum maraknya penggunaan AI, banyak penulis yang sudah memakai em dash ini.
