The 50th International Association of Byron Societies Conference @IABSocieties took place at @KeeleUniversity from 20-24 July, in the presence of Robin Byron, the 13th Lord Byron. 20 July was truly a full-circle moment for me. After many years, I had the honour of returning to my alma mater, Keele University, to present a paper on Lord Byron in the magnificent Keele Hall (est. 1580, rebuilt 1851) -the very place where I studied English Literature for four years and spent two semesters immersed in Byron's works. My presentation focused on the "Byron vs Bullying" project, which I organised in collaboration with the Book Club committee of the @qlsnetwork of language schools in Greece to commemorate the bicentenary of the great Philhellene Romantic poet's death in 2024. It was a genuine pleasure to reconnect with esteemed Byron scholars from around the world and to make many new acquaintances. Almost twenty years ago, I hung an etching of Keele Hall above my writing desk, right beside an oil painting of Lord Byron. At the time, I could never have imagined that one day I would return to that very hall -not as a student, but as a speaker, sharing my own work with an international community of Byronists.
