We just arrived in Boulder, Colorado, and uploaded the third video of our USA trip from our hotel room!
It‘s our favorite video so far. We explored New Braunfels, Texas, trying to find as much German heritage as possible. German food, people speaking German, and anything that reminds us of home.
We also floated down the Comal River, which didn’t go quite as planned when one of us got caught in a strong current, flipped out of his tube and got pulled underwater. And we saw deer pretty much everywhere.
We had so much fun editing this one and really hope you guys enjoy it!

Hello from Vail, Colorado!
It’s time to announce when we’re flying back home to Germany. November 8th, next Sunday, will be the end of our USA trip.
That means this weekend will be our last full weekend in the States and we want to make the most of it!
We’ll be in the Denver/Boulder area, and there are quite a few sporting events to choose from. CU Boulder plays Kansas State on Saturday, the Colorado Avalanche have a game that evening and the Broncos play the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
So we still have the chance to experience both an NHL and NFL game on this trip.
And since it’s Halloween weekend, we also want to visit a haunted house, check out a pumpkin patch and walk through some neighborhoods to see all the decorated houses.
Could be a really fun last full weekend in America! We’d love to hear your suggestions on what we should do and which of these experiences you think we shouldn’t miss!
It’s funny how fast this trip changed from a summer to a winter trip. Feels like we just skipped the fall season. This was the Red Mountain Pass the highest point we reached while driving the Million Dollar Highway, people were already skiing😭
We’re now about to drive the Million Dollar Highway. We’ve been told it’s one of the most famous, spectacular and also dangerous roads in the United States. I’m excited! 🇺🇸
It's crazy yesterday we were driving through the desert in New Mexico and now we're up in the mountains of Colorado at a ski resort. It's incredible how quickly the landscape changes here.
We are in Sante Fe, NM. Never thought we’d find a city like this in America. It reminds me a bit of Morocco with all the beautiful architecture and narrow streets. Such a beautiful town!
But you can definitely feel the 7,000 feet of elevation. The air is pretty thin up here.
Alright that’s it for us in Albuquerque!
I feel like I say this every time we leave a place but once again we met so many incredible people here.
Today we also tried some New Mexican food at The Frontier which pretty much everyone we met recommended to us. It was really good!
We also checked out the UNM campus and today was the first day where it actually felt like fall. The wind, the cooler weather and the trees losing their leaves. With the mountains in the background Albuquerque really is a cool city and we enjoyed our time here a lot!
First college basketball game of the trip! UNM vs Arizona State.
It’s a preseason game so the arena isn’t full but we’ve been told that during the regular season this is one of the loudest arenas in the country.
The UNM game last night was such a cool experience and made us think that we might actually prefer games in smaller stadiums.
The atmosphere feels more personal and you keep running into the same people over and over again. At the tailgate, in the stadium, after the game at Raising Cane’s.
Obviously the experience in those huge 80,000+ stadiums is hard to beat but these smaller venues have their own charm too.
And the atmosphere last night was really good as well!
