Thankful that the Executive saw fit to commute the sentence of Jon-Adrian Velazquez!
He was wrongfully convicted for the murder of an NYPD officer in the 90s. My mom told me about his mom Maria, an @1199SEIU member, who has fought for his release since I was born. @RAPPcampaign – at Bronx, NY

In 1998, JJ was sentenced to life for the murder of a police officer in Harlem, New York. Producer @maggiefreleng breaks down new evidence that suggests JJ didn't commit this crime. The real killer is still out there.

.@NYGovCuomo, we beg you to read the words of Jon-Adrian’s youngest son. He was 2 months old when this nightmare began for his family. We are thankful that you granted 21 individuals clemency. Won’t you consider making it 22 for an innocent man? 1/2

I’m heartbroken by your inaction regarding @FreeJonAdrian’s wrongful conviction/executive clemency. NY has stolen more than 20 years of his life and the lives of his loved ones. This is why people hate politicians. @NYGovCuomo #FreeJonAdrian #FreeJonAdrianVelazquez
