🏆 SHILL LEAGUE — POSTPONED
Something quite remarkable has happened this week: the fanbase has started pulling together.
With the Boycott United campaign gathering support, I've seen people who would normally be competing at the very top of this league putting differences aside and directing their attention towards the bigger issue.
And that was always the point.
I'm under absolutely no illusion that the Shill League had an impact on anyone changing behaviour. I'm a small account, and this was never about interactions, followers or trying to make myself important. It started as a bit of satire with a serious purpose: calling out behaviour I disagreed with while hoping that, ultimately, people might reflect and we could pull in the same direction.
If it made even one person stop and think differently, then it was worth doing.
So while there's unity and the behaviour this league was created to satirise has changed, it wouldn't feel right to publish another table.
The Shill League is therefore postponed for now. 🫡🏆
Not necessarily retired, mind you... 😂 If normal service resumes, the Committee reserves the right to reopen proceedings at very short notice.
But for now, differences aside. Unity matters more than the league table.
However, there could potentially be a table of accounts that are deciding not to even share or repost the current campaign if they don't sort themselves out!

Final results.
It's been a week of two halves.
Leading up to the Brighton game, it was largely business as usual. Particularly around the Manchester Derby and then the JJ Gabriel situation.
Then Brighton happened.
For perhaps the first time, the result and performance seemed to knock some of our regular competitors completely off their stride. The usual positivity and deflection noticeably gave way shock, frustration and even criticism. For a brief moment it even looked like reality had hit home.
Not everyone got the memo though 😅.

📈 STRETFORD PADDOCK - UP TO 4TH
Business as usual for the paddock boys. 100% focusing on VAR after the performance in the derby. Then their coverage of the JJ Gabriel situation focuses heavily on the 15 year old himself and his family, while in my view not giving no where near enough weight to the fairly obvious elephant in the room - Manchester United are a deeply struggling football club, and a talented youngster considering his options shouldn't exactly be incomprehensible!
Then came the Brighton result/performance. Even after that performance the Paddock produced an entire show/podcast titled 'WHO'S TO BLAME' yet from my viewing somehow managed to get through the entire stream without discussing Ineos and The Glazers.
A stream asking who is to blame and not discussing who is to blame?!
An impressive effort moves them to 4th.
📉 ADAM JOSEPH DOWN TO 3RD
Before Brighton, business as usual - double figure posts about the VAR decision with no talk of anything to do with our failings. Then the usual shill position on JJ Gabriel- heavy blame on the youngster and his family.
Then Brighton happened and something extraordinary occurred. An apology tweet and actual criticism towards the board and owners.
Has there been genuine self reflection, is it a temporary post Brighton wobble? The shill league can't possibly comment 😆
But this league rewards improved behaviour, but will moniotor closely to see if what i suspect is true and the change of behaviour is disingenuous and Adam will be back to default settings after a win.

📉 RIO FERDINAND - DOWN TO 2ND
A remarkably quiet week from pur reigning leader. And whilst his silence after the recent results may have raised a few eyebrows, the shill league committee can not reward points for shilling that never actually occurred.
There was however, a dramatic late attempt to keep top spot: A video with Diego Dalot discussing the criticism he revives. A nice try at some positive PR right at the death (vintage Rio) it was just not enough to hold on to top spot.

Zero criticism of The Glazers, Ineos or the board. And after being one of Carricks biggest supporters, within 48 hours he now hold Michael Carrick fully responsible for the clubs performances. Outrageous posts over the last few days.
