My dear German friend, when Homer was writing poetry in beautiful Ancient Greek, your ancestors were literally cavemen. The most insulting part: "Cavemen" isn't an insult here—it's historical fact.

This little girl, walker in hand, marches through the rain for Greece’s OXI Day. No obstacle can break the unyielding Greek spirit the same courage that said “No” in 1940 still walks proudly today. 🇬🇷🫡🇬🇷💙

On 28 October 1940, Greece answered Fascist Italy’s ultimatum with a resounding “NO.” A small nation stood defiant, defending its freedom, dignity and homeland. Oxi Day honors the courage of those who resisted—and reminds the world that freedom is never given; it is defended.🇬🇷🫡

On this day, October 28, 1940, Greece is attacked by the Italian fascists. Northern Epirus was stained with the blood of heroes who threw the fascists into the sea. This land was ceded to the Albanians with the help of the allies.

Let the Turks see this. In Turkey you are allowed to speak all the languages of the world but it is forbidden to speak Greek. For many it is the mother tongue. But the islamofascist Turks feel fear and terror for the Greek roots of most of the population.

In 1828, Governor Ioannis Kapodistrias introduced the "Phoenix" 🦅 the very first currency of modern Greece. Just like the mythical bird rising from its ashes, the coin symbolized a nation reborn after centuries of Ottoman rule. A powerful emblem of freedom & rebirth! 🇬🇷✨
