🚨 WOMAN, 64, JAILED FOR NINE YEARS AFTER GROOMING AND SEXUALLY ABUSING A BOY Tracy Bancroft, 64, of Filey, North Yorkshire, has been jailed for nine years and four months after admitting offences against a teenage boy she groomed and repeatedly sexually abused. York Crown Court heard Bancroft gave the boy a strong mixture of rum and juice before the first incident. He had little sexual knowledge, did not fully understand what was happening and froze in shock. Judge Simon Hickey said the abuse involved clear grooming and planning. The devastating impact on the victim has continued for years. His mother told the court she had repeatedly intervened to stop him taking his own life, describing the damage to his education, employment prospects and wellbeing. He kept the abuse secret for years before beginning to disclose it following a suicide attempt. A further year passed before he felt able to give police a statement. Bancroft showed no remorse, his mother told the court. She has also received a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, a lifetime requirement to remain on the sex offenders’ register and a lifetime ban on working with children or vulnerable adults.
