Heidi Levine, photojournalist for @wapo suffered serious injuries from vicious & cowardly attack. Heidi is US Citizen, clear ID as journalist. Details of who under investigation, but those who attacked unarmed reporter should spend YRS in prison. We have called for a full investigation, arrest, and prosecution to the fullest extent of the law to whoever participated in this. Attacking a female photographer is despicable act of terror carried out by masked cowards. Dishonorable act of senseless violence.

To be clear: Some facts are neither in dispute nor unclear. Our photographer was clearly marked as Press. She was clearly beaten. These are not partisan or risible statements, but indisputable. We urge a thorough investigation and accountability.
The Prime Minister’s Office:
The facts surrounding the confrontation near Abu Falah, during which Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine was allegedly assaulted, remain unclear and are under investigation.
Israel unequivocally condemns violence against anyone—Jews, Arabs, Christians or journalists. Those responsible will be held accountable.
But serious questions remain. Reports indicate some 200 Arabs and far-left activists confronted approximately 40 Israeli youths. Footage shows masked individuals on both sides hurling objects, amid reports of fireworks fired at Jewish youths. Other footage appears to show Levine knocked down and immediately helped to her feet by the same unidentified individual.
The investigation must establish the facts, including who initiated the violence.
We will not allow disputed incidents to be exploited to demonize the hundreds of thousands of law-abiding Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria.
The facts must determine the conclusions. Not the headlines.

English below.
The Yom Kippur liturgy is tough and complicated.
It's sad how painfully relevant the beginning of Kaparot still is: "Children of man who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, shackled in affliction in iron."
But there is some comfort in the morning Haftorah from Yeshayahu, a roadmap for the actions that should accompany our fasting:
"Behold, this is the fast that I have chosen—loosening the bonds of wickedness, undoing the straps of the yoke, sending the oppressed free and breaking every yoke (of tyranny). Break your bread with the hungry, and bring the impoverished into your home; clothe the naked when you see them and do not hide from your own flesh (relatives). Then will your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall come quickly;"
I hope this Yom Kippur inspires us all to take the action that may move us from darkness to the light of dawn and to healing.

Today we remember chemistry laureate Ada Yonath who passed away yesterday at the age of 87.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, the chemical foundations for life were a mystery. Today we know how many of the most important processes function, all the way down to the atomic level. This is due in part to the work of biochemist, Ada Yonath.
In the 1970s, Yonath began a project that culminated in 2000 with her successful mapping (together with other researchers) of the structure of ribosomes – the cell’s own protein factory – by using x-ray crystallography. Among other applications, this has been important in the production of antibiotics.
In 2009, Yonath shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Venkatraman Ramakrishnan and Thomas Steitz for studies of the structure and function of the ribosome.

We, the Weizmann Institute of Science community, deeply mourn the passing of Prof. Ada Yonath of the Institute’s Chemical and Structural Biology Department. Prof. Yonath pioneered the study of the ribosome, the cell’s protein factory, and was awarded the 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for her research in this field. Her decades-long scientific journey led to an understanding of how various antibiotics work, helping pave the way for the development of new antibiotics and the fight against antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Yonath, the first Israeli woman scientist to win a Nobel Prize, also received dozens of other awards and honors, including the Israel Prize in Chemistry and the Wolf Prize in Chemistry. Prof. Yonath exemplified how scientific vision, the courage to choose a major scientific question and unwavering dedication to its pursuit can lead to extraordinary achievements and expand the boundaries of knowledge for the future of humanity.
May her memory be a blessing.

"We're going to beat the fuc*ing sh*t out of them," President Trump told Fox News after Iran launched a surprise attack against U.S. forces. "We'll be hitting them hard."
The President says U.S. strikes overnight against Iran-backed militias in Iraq were coordinated with the Iraqi government.
"We're going to let them keep talking," President Trump said about the possibility of future talks with Iran.
BREAKING: President Trump tells Fox News the United States will respond with force after what he called a surprise Iranian missile attack on U.S. forces in Jordan, saying, "We're going to beat the f****** s*** out of them" and warning Iran is "going to get a beating."
He said U.S. forces successfully intercepted the incoming ballistic missiles, confirmed overnight strikes against Iran-backed militias in Iraq were coordinated with the Iraqi government, and called the militias "a cancer on the world." | @TreyYingst @foxandfriends

Today, U.S. forces lifted the blockade on all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports and coastal areas, in accordance with the President's direction. American forces are not impeding the transit of vessels to or from Iranian ports. All U.S. military blockade enforcement efforts have ceased. Our great Naval Ships will remain in the general area to make sure that all aspects of the agreement are adhered to, obeyed and in full force and effect.

Well deserved award for one of the best people (and journalists) - and a horrifying account of Oct 7.
My book "The Gates of Gaza" has won the 2026 Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature. [@SamiRohrPrize]
Receiving this award is an incredible honor, and a reminder that two-and-a-half years after October 7, the task of telling that day's story, alongside the history that led to it and the terrible consequences it unleashed, is still upon us.
The Rohr Prize, established 20 years ago by the family of Jewish-American philanthropist Sami Rohr, has played a unique role over the past two decades in supporting, celebrating and lifting Jewish writers from all corners of the world. The mission behind this prize has never been more important, as we battle new waves of antisemitism globally and their unique ripples within the world of books and literature.
I'm grateful to the judging panel for choosing to recognize my work at this crucial moment, and would also like to thank my U.S. publisher @littlebrown for believing in "The Gates of Gaza" right from the start and making this achievement possible.

• Filternet remains in place but can be worked around
• WhatsApp now restricted, requiring circumvention
• Some users still offline

📈 Confirmed: Live metrics show a partial restoration to internet connectivity in #Iran on day 88, after 2093 hours of near-total isolation from international networks, the longest nationwide internet shutdown in modern history. It is unclear if the restoration will be sustained.
