A major fire broke out at the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, following an overnight drone attack on Sunday. Operating as one of the largest oil refining complexes in the Russian Federation, the facility maintains an annual capacity to process approximately 17 million metric tons of crude oil – or roughly 340,000 barrels per day. The refinery is a strategic producer of gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, and lubricants, serving as a critical supply node for Russian military equipment and domestic energy distribution networks across the country.
