The local media has decided Paris was a great week for the Saints brand and a terrible week for the Saints team. The city gave up a home game to watch a bad team lose by 6 in France.
Being celebrated for owning a team is not the same as running one well. No one from Gayle on down is willing to make a hard decision.
Exhibit A: Loomis has been GM since 2002. Next year we have a ton of cap space and a likely top 6 draft pick.
After years in the wilderness, we now have resources. Does anyone trust him to use those properly?
Contrast that with Indy. Carlie Irsay-Gordon backed Chris Ballard in January. Six games in, she fired him and said it couldn't wait until the offseason. That's a real owner doing real work improving the team. Instead, Gayle is being praised for throwing an ostentatious party in France for VIPs.
What this team needs is an adult in the room: an owner willing to make the tough calls before problems linger too long and a floor raiser head coach (Flores, McDermott, Tomlin) to go with it. After this season, Shough will be 1/2 way through his rookie contract and while it is not midnight, we are past 11:40 pm.

You can get rid of Kellen Moore but as I said when they fired Dennis Allen until they change the way they operate on a macro level, they ain’t winning shit nor is it an attractive job despite Shough.

Got the win but somehow I think Kellen Moore is a worse coach than I did at noon.

The takeaway from today needs to be for Gayle Benson to keep being tough. Let them know that their is a standard that must be met. This is football. Not church. Put their feet to the fire CONSISTENTLY to uphold that standard.

The halftime score doesn't hide the first half offensive disaster we just sat through. You take the lifeline though.
Terrible showing after the threat from ownership. We'll see if they can re-capture some of that second half magic.
Penalty on the opening kick off.
My column ...

Loomis says their goal next year isn't just to win the NFC South. They want to do more.

They can keep changing the head coach. It doesn’t matter.
The people who run this organization are entirely incapable of putting together a competitive on-field and on-court product, proven incompetence, and they aren’t going anywhere.
As a fan, I'm not going to tolerate any mention of us being one year away. I'm also not going to tolerate any mention of injuries. There is 0 patience left for those excuses when our draft picks are sitting on the sidelines and our coach can't figure out a game plan.
This is the kind of blunt assessment we need.
Hope and the city walked out of the Superdome on Monday. Now Kellen Moore, Saints have to earn it.

Mickey Loomis has had organizational power rivaling any non-owner in the NFL since Sean Payton left, they've gone 28-43 in that span and he's spent incredible resources on this offensive line
I think any member of the Saints media not calling for KM and Loomis getting fired after this game isn't serious about their job. This is pathetic and fans deserve better.

Twenty years ago, the world heard New Orleans roar again.
Same Dome. Same Rival. Same Monday night stage.
Let them hear us again ⚜️
