And won. 🔴⚽️✅ So naturally, I went looking for the earliest PL red cards at 0–0 by a team who STILL went on to win. This is what we uncovered...... 🥇 3:11 Harry Maguire, Leicester v Burnley (2019) Leicester played virtually the entire match with 10 men and won 2–1. This remains the earliest PL dismissal by a team that went on to win. 🥈 9' Iain Turner, Everton v Blackburn (2006) The goalkeeper was sent off. Everton brought on teenage keeper John Ruddy and still won 1–0. 🥉 10' Vincent Kompany, Hull v Man City (2014) City went down to 10 at 0–0. David Silva scored THREE minutes later. City won 2–0. 4️⃣ 13' Idrissa Gueye, Man Utd v Everton (2025) Sent off for fighting his own teammate. Everton still won 1–0. 5️⃣ 20' Duncan Ferguson, Everton v Bolton (2002) 0–0 when Big Dunc went. Everton responded by scoring three and winning 3–1. And after disappearing down the red-card rabbit hole, Everton appear to be the specialists. Our trawl of the PL era has them just pipping Arsenal for wins after receiving a red at 0–0 although with Everton and Arsenal also joint-top for all-time PL red cards, perhaps they've simply had more practice. 😂 Use this information wisely. 🤓
