A fascinating UCSF study on psilocybin for Parkinson's. The potential for psychedelics to reduce mitochondrial stress and inflammation is one of the most exciting areas of emerging research in our field. If you want to dig deeper into the science, check out the work of Dr. Chuck Nichols at LSU. IMHO, we should be adding these biomarkers to human psychedelic studies, as the implications are just massive. If you're a researcher in the field. Another win for psilocybin In 9 Parkinson's patients... GDF15 fell > 17.4% after 10 mg > 13.9% after 25 mg High GDF15 signals mitochondrial failure and neurodegeneration. Inflammation also declined: > IL-6: −17% > IL-8: −20% > hsCRP: −9.6% > IL-10: +2.7% (anti-inflammatory)
