This week, Future Forum elected its new leaders for the 119th Congress! 👏
Co-Chair for Administration @RepPettersen, Co-Chair for Policy @RepGabeAmo and Co-Chair for Communications @RepMcGarvey are ready to get to work on behalf of young Americans across the country.
💡BILL SPOTLIGHT: @repscfigures (D-AL) recently introduced a bill to cover college and trade school fees for families of America's first responders, teachers, and social workers.
“Rep. Bynum, are you pushing hard enough? Rep. Bynum, I'm holding you accountable.”
We're so proud that @RepBynum is a Future Forum Co-Chair. She's always been an advocate for listening to Gen Z and delivering on what they need.
Congresswoman stuns in new announcement of federal funds for children.
Congresswoman Lauren Underwood announces that she has secured more than $500,000 in federal funding for child care, youth homelessness, crisis intervention, and university research in northern Illinois.

Our hearts are with Bend, Oregon. @RepBynum is right. We need to make sure kids can be at the playground, the grocery store, or at school without being at risk of gun violence.
Sending a big congratulations to @RepLaMonica! We're so inspired by her bravery. She continues to stand up to Trump and fight for ICE oversight, even while facing 17 years in prison for doing her job. We're proud to call her a member of Future Forum. Sending her family the best!
Democrats & @reppettersen are ready to meet the moment and regulate AI so Gen Z has a better future. Why are House Republicans nowhere to be found?

NEW: The rising cost of housing is the top political issue for young voters. As a recent first-time homebuyer after two decades of renting in Maryland, I know firsthand that the cost of housing is just too high. It’s time we build off common-sense legislation like the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act and put the American dream back in reach for hardworking families.
Americans are giving up on home ownership, struggling to afford meals, and going without healthcare…
And Mike Johnson wants to spend $350 billion on more forever wars and disenfranchise voters.
Watch @repderektran ask Pete Hegseth why he is actively blocking the promotion of women and Black officers in the military.
Hegseth's answer?
Because I said so.
This is how the Trump administration operates.
Today, Trump failed in his assault on one of the most basic principles of our Constitution. SCOTUS just struck down his attempt to negate the 14th Amendment and narrow the definition of “American."
Trump:
> “America First”
> peddle voter suppression bill
> bill stalls because it sucks
> Congress passes historic affordable housing bill
> “No one gives a **** about housing”
> throw a fit and refuse to sign until they pass anti-American bill
> Art of the Deal

Trump had the answer to lowering your housing costs handed to him on a silver — no let’s make that gold — platter last week and he still found a way to screw it up.
Congress passed a once-in-a-generation bipartisan housing bill that would have brought down costs for families across this country, and when it got to his desk, he shut it all down.
Why? He just told you himself: “I don’t want to drive housing prices down.” He doesn’t actually care about making it easier for you to afford a home. He cares more about what's good for Donald Trump.

It’s absolutely scary to be facing 17 years in prison for doing my job, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop showing up to protect New Jersey.
Q: Congresswoman, how are you feeling? Are you afraid?
@RepLaMonica: Well, of course I am. I mean, I have the President of the United States and the Department of Justice trying to send me to jail for 17 years. That’s very frightening. I think that even the Department of Justice knows that this case is extremely bogus and that it makes no sense. But once again, the point of it all is cruelty. The process is the pain for them, and they enjoy that, and they’re watching me, go through that, you know, having to raise money for this case, that I’m not getting free dollars, you know, while they get to use your tax dollars to charge me. My family is stressed out about it. Obviously, I have a big belly bump in front of me, as you all can see. We should not be spending taxpayer dollars to prosecute members of Congress for them showing up to do their job.

Trump will leave office with a Boeing 747, courtesy of Qatar, upgraded courtesy of you.
A foreign government gave the President a $400 million jet. American taxpayers spent millions more making it one of the most sophisticated aircraft on the planet.
But when Trump leaves office, the plane doesn’t stay with the government. It goes with him.
The Constitution is clear: a president cannot accept a gift from a foreign government without the consent of Congress. We never consented to this.
Yesterday, Trump proved that he cares more about preventing people from voting than lowering costs.
Both Democrats and Republicans in Congress overwhelmingly passed a historic housing bill that would drastically increase the housing supply in the United States.
Homeownership would be much more attainable for young people who'd like to invest in that part of their lives. The biggest obstacle to housing we can afford is the president.
