Every culture reflects its leaders. What leaders tolerate becomes acceptable. What they reward gets repeated. What they ignore becomes the norm. You cannot demand accountability while making excuses or expect excellence while accepting mediocrity. Culture starts at the top.

Do you know the names of your K-2 students who have missed 10+ days of school this year? Students who miss fewer that 10+ days per year of schooling in K-2 are significantly less likely to read on grade level by grade three. What are you doing differently to help these students?
Absolutely @educator4ever36 !!! No tolerance for that!

If you have children about two weeks into the new school year and still have received no communication (email, website, syllabus, flyer, etc) from one or more teachers, that’s a red flag. 🚩🚩🚩I don’t care what grade your child is in, within ten days you should have some form of communication from every teacher your child has.

Eighty-four years ago, Albert Gray said, “It is easier to adjust ourselves to the hardships of a poor living than it is to adjust ourselves to the hardships of making a better one.”
The same thing can be said for low performing schools.”

The best tip I can give anyone who wants to impress their boss when writing emails is to do two things:
Be really clear on your subject line on what the email is about.
And state the purpose of the email immediately in the first sentence so they know exactly what awaits them and can follow your communication.
Sometimes we may not want to say, "I will miss the deadline," or "We may exceed budget," but most leaders I know will be more upset if they have to read 4 paragraphs of explanation before you get to the point.

In low-performing schools, “good enough” teaching = no improvement. Breakthrough happens when practice gets hard again—target weak skills, reteach until learned, use real-time data, and feedback. It’s not more effort—it’s better focus. Adults change → results change. #Educentric

Most teams say they value trust. Few build it.
Breakthrough performance starts when leaders say:
“I don’t know.”
“I was wrong.”
No fear. No blame.
That’s when problems surface early and execution sharpens.
Start there.

The status quo in low-performing schools isn’t neutral — it compounds harm daily. When leaders admit they wouldn’t choose their own school for their child, that’s not a staffing issue. That’s a leadership issue. Breakthrough requires courage.
