In response to past feedback, I'd like to make clear that my talk is not intended to be uplifting - it's a tale of failure and frustration. If you do see anyone being uplifted by it please do let me know so I can remedy that.

As a few people asked, here's what happened next in Mongolia. We were building a club based on homegrown talent, we'd intended to stay in second tier for a year but suddenly a club refused their place in the Premier League so we were told we had to take it, 14 days before season.

"1312: Among the Ultras, A Journey With the World's Most Extreme Fans" is out today in paperback (with a new chapter...)🏟️🎆⚽️
Well, my book “1312: Among the Ultras” is out in paperback today with @EburyPublishing @PenguinUKBooks. I wrote this book in a completely different world. It originally came out a week before the pandemic shut everything. So much has changed.

Thanks to @IanRidley1, @EverSoBookish and @SteveLeard for all of their hard work on this one. Excited to share my experiences of pro football in Sri Lanka.

That’s right: we were joined by Shadab Iftikhar and George Maguire of @ascentsoccer for our latest podcast.
Two more great guests on this week’s podcast. Some fascinating stories from @MaggieMrphy and @RalfHaley.
We weren’t 100% sure what we were doing, but hopefully everyone will find the podcast just as interesting as @paul_c_watson obviously did. Thanks to our first ever guests, @JamesPiotr and @Savsims.
So, in true GFA style (about one year later than planned), we’re recording our first podcast today...

First recording of the @GFA_Football podcast today which was a great excuse to re-read @JamesPiotr's When Friday Comes, one of my all-time favourites. Started making notes of bits I loved and realised I was basically just copying the whole book out by hand.
