𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: •𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲: Even at 800–900 bar, hydrogen’s volumetric energy density remains well below diesel’s, affecting storage and range. The discussion covered 350-bar and 700-bar systems, liquid hydrogen and ammonia as a hydrogen carrier. Liquid hydrogen requires approximately −253°C, making liquefaction energy and boil-off management critical to affordability. •𝗩𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀’ 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: @Cummins India work spans hydrogen internal combustion engines (ICE) and fuel cells. Its purpose-built combustion approach uses direct injection to address safety and match diesel-truck power density. Development across four regions and the recent supply of six engines for truck construction highlighted progress. •𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Using a corridor of 100 hydrogen trucks as an example, the panel explored local production, trailer delivery and pipelines. India’s grid can connect dispersed solar, wind and hydropower resources. The Paris example cited 11 refuelling stations, including one downtown and two at major airports, linked to the 2024 Olympics. Onsite production requires reliable power, safe storage and trained operators. •𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: A US$1.75 TCO model was referenced, although the available excerpt did not specify its unit. Fuel-delivery and storage systems remain major cost drivers. Government support for dedicated freight corridors, dependable fuel supply and coordinated investment are essential. •𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: The discussion referenced 60,000 km of truck operation under the pilot programme’s first phase, with learning over 2–3 years and progress through Phases 1 and 2 informing safety, reliability and operating economics. The panel also covered 2025 green-ammonia auctions, integrating electrolysis and ammonia production with intermittent renewable power, and staged development. Germany is turning RED III from regulation into a real market signal for renewable fuels and green hydrogen. With new transport quotas, compliance obligations and penalties coming into focus, the key question for industry is no longer simply what RED III requires, but where it creates demand, who will need to comply, and where green hydrogen can compete. Join @GH2India and @ArgusMedia for: Germany’s RED III Transport Rollout: Quotas, Penalties, and the Green Hydrogen Opportunity The session will unpack Germany’s RED III transport framework and what it could mean for renewable hydrogen producers, e-fuel developers, fuel suppliers, traders, investors and companies looking at the European market. Tuesday, 22 September 2026 4:00 to 5:30 PM IST | 12:30 to 2:00 PM CEST Speakers: • Stefan Krümpelmann, Editor, Hydrogen & Future Fuels, Argus Media • Sheikh Muntazir Azam, Senior Analyst, Argus Media The discussion will look at the emerging quota structure, penalties, compliance economics and the potential demand opportunity for renewable hydrogen and hydrogen-derived fuels. At the 4th Green Hydrogen India Symposium (GHIS) , Mr. Siddharth Gupta, Chief Executive, L&T Electrolysers Ltd, 𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲: 𝗮 𝟰𝟬𝟬 𝗠𝗪 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗠𝗪 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. He shared that L&T Electrolysers had reached approximately 85% local content, supported by sustained work with domestic suppliers. His remarks highlighted why demand creation matters to every layer of the industry. Orders enable electrolyser manufacturers to utilise capacity, component suppliers to expand and technology partners to invest in further development. He also stressed the need to assess competitiveness through total cost of ownership, including efficiency and energy consumption over the operating life. At the 4th Green Hydrogen India Symposium (GHIS 4), Ms. Rucha Shevde, Country Head – India (H2 Membranes), Agfa, highlighted that consistent demand creates the confidence to invest in local manufacturing. For membrane suppliers, that investment also depends on a domestic ecosystem capable of supporting raw materials, finishing processes and quality inspection. Developing these capabilities can increase local value addition and contribute to cost reduction. Her message carries a practical implication for India’s hydrogen ambitions: predictable demand, targeted incentives and supplier development need to progress together. At the 4th Green Hydrogen India Symposium (GHIS), Mr. Harsh Khaitan, Director, @BVK_Hydrotech , highlighted a critical link between domestic technology development and demand certainty. His remarks also pointed to an international opportunity: as manufacturers seek to diversify their supply chains, India can build its position as a reliable source of electrolyser components. Realising that opportunity requires support for the companies developing these capabilities.
