A great theatre talk this week, where Mr Craven shared his experiences as a prison warden working in Wormwood Scrubs. Really insightful, some fascinating stories and definitely something we will remember!
Good luck to all our A level Maths students taking part in the global maths challenge today…. Be smart and do good sums!!
Huge thanks to all our brilliant sixth formers for helping out at Open Evening this week. Whether you were guiding, car parking, being a scientist, delivering speeches or randomly cooking marshmallows, you helped make the evening what it was!
Another year….Another open evening… another crack team of sixth form car parking attendants. And most importantly…. Another year of no collisions. It almost looked like we knew what we were doing…. Good work team!
Thanks as ever to our Deloitte alumni…. A great presentation on the opportunities their apprenticeship scheme offers, followed by a real life assessment centre experience. Great preparation for our Year 13s…. And well done to the winning candidates!
Cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green… some of our horticulturally minded Year 12s are completing their community contribution programme supporting the gardening club this year. Hoping for a bumper harvest!
A little late…. But huge thanks to Archie for being our guest of honour at our KS3 awards evening last week… your speech was heartfelt, honest and humble. Good work!
Great to catch up with some of our newer students at our annual externals breakfast this morning… some brilliant additions to our Sixth Form family!
Less than 5 minutes later… the heavens opened! But… the annual sixth form photo has been banked, and hopefully looks a little better than the “pre-shoot”…
A great two days of Year 12 into 13 transition meetings; it was brilliant to hear what you’ve all been up to over the summer and made us realise how much we’ve missed you. Only one more sleep till the band is back together… we can’t wait!!
Breaking News!! We’ve just had official confirmation that this years results have put us firmly in the top 20% of sixth forms… in the entire country!!
And… that means our three year average ranks us in the top FIVE percent nationally!! Success isn’t a one off, it’s a habit!
Our very own Mr Maths only went and did it! 4A* grades and the top mark in both his STEP papers! Cambridge aren’t going to know what’s
hit them! Well done Archie… you did it in style!!
Nailed it! A fantastic A Level results day with some outstanding individual outcomes… you did it! It wasn’t always easy, but days like this show just where hard work gets you… now for the rest of your lives!
I’m sure we aren’t going to need it next week… but failing to plan means we’re planning to fail and all that…

Another year done…. Where did that one go? Goodbye to all the staff leaving us, especially Mr Bard, Miss Frame and Mrs Wheeler who, between them, have clocked up over 90 years of Greensward service.
Have a brilliant summer… see you on results day!!
Our mock assessment centre session during Future Pathways day today threw up a few surprises… who ever thought it’d be that hard to make a bridge out of a few pieces of spaghetti…??
A big well done to Year 13 student Eden for her highly commended award at the Chelmsford Science and Engineering Society schools award night. The work she has done on improving the Greensward pond was praised not only for its sustainability but also its philanthropy. Great work!
