SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.

RAMAYANA: Embargo Violation & Potential Legal Consequences - FAQ
The Sony Pictures studio or production house DNEG / Yash's Monster Minds / Prime focus via Sony pictures may seek financial damages, removal of material, or other court relief where legally justified.
Q: What were Sony’s official embargo deadlines?
Social reactions: Oct 28, 1 AM ET
Full reviews: Oct 30, 12 PM ET
Q: When was the violation published ?
Published nearly 61 hours before Sony's official review embargo and 57 minutes before even the social embargo lifted.
Q: What did they publish?
A detailed critical assessment of the screenplay, performances, VFX, music, pacing and final verdict, labeled "Initial Impressions"
It's substantively a full film review, not merely a brief initial reaction. The heading “#Ramayana Initial Impressions” does not change the nature of the content.
The post evaluates nearly every major aspect of the film:
Story and Screenplay: Narration feels flat; limited material stretched.
Direction and Pacing: Second half drags; action lacks impact.
Performances: Detailed assessment of Yash, Ranbir Kapoor, and Sai Pallavi.
Visual Effects: Green screen appearance and cartoonish asuras.
Music: Strongly negative assessment of the score.
Overall Verdict: Watchable but a mixed bag.
The reviewer has assessed the film’s story, direction, performances, technical aspects, music, and overall quality, delivering a clear critical verdict.
This goes well beyond a brief initial reaction and has the substantive characteristics of a full-length film review, regardless of how it is titled.
Q: Does labeling a full review “Initial Impressions” provide legal protection?
Not necessarily.
Q: Can Sony Pictures pursue legal action?
Potentially. A violation of binding embargo terms may expose the responsible parties to contractual claims, depending on the applicable law.
Q: Has Sony Pictures taken action against critics for embargo violations in the past?
A: Yes. In 2011, The New Yorker published David Denby’s review of Sony’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo eight days before the embargo. Producer barred the reviewer from future screenings. No Law suit status known.

when vijay sethupathi hugs the child instead of scolding him, it reflects how beautifully the character is written, evolving from toxic masculinity to a healthier, more empathetic form of masculinity.
One must learn to forgive. One must be willing to learn.
