Some detail from me in this piece about how the Man City appeal will run.
- New legal experts
- A 12-week timeframe, which would be 24 December, but that could be disapplied
- Decision likely before sanctions
- A possible second appeal over sanction(s)

Integrated Education is the key to delivering a better, shared future for every child in Northern Ireland.
It’s time to stop blocking progress on integrated education.

🚨 Cristiano Ronaldo confirms he’s left the Portugal camp.
“After the press conference of the national team, and following a conversation with the President of the Portuguese Football Federation, I have decided to leave the national team camp.
“In time, I will tell all the Portuguese the truth about the reasons that motivated me to leave the national team, to which I always devoted myself.
“Now is the time to wish Portugal and all my teammates good luck, without exception.”
It was the police assessment that a parade down the Garvaghy rd wouldn’t be a problem - thus creating the conditions for the parades commission ruling to proceed

When I wrote about this image rights sham for The Independent in 2018, Manchester City threatened to sue us and demanded I tweet out a personal apology on here. We fought them. They did not sue us.
City's sham is confirmed by the Premier League today independent.co.uk/sport/foot…
The parades commission and the court placed great reliance on PSNI submissions that there wasn’t evidence of the risk of disorder if the proposed orange order march went ahead.
And yet since the commission made its ruling in allowing an Orange Order parade proceed, the PSNI now seem to have done a complete about turn on that analysis.
I asked the police some specific questions. They have just confirmed to me they have nothing further to add to the following at this time:
Police update on Drumcree Policing Operation
Police Service of Northern Ireland Assistant Chief Constable Ryan Henderson said: “Our significant public safety operation remains in place on the Garvaghy Road. Overnight we have continued to engage and assess how best to balance the rights of all parties.
“We will continue to explore and keep under review a range of tactical options to safely bring this matter to a conclusion and keep the peace.
“Our dedicated Enquiry Team are continuing to review evidence gathered to ensure an effective criminal justice strategy.”

Fascinating written judgment.
1. No real analysis on what the parades commission considered to have been a material change of circumstances that would see a different approach to previous years - other than each application has to be considered in the here and now.
2. Interesting also that notwithstanding the unionist parties support Brexit, the rights protected by the European Convention on Human Rights and protected by the Good Friday Agreement and case law cited in this case, forms part of the reasons why the court considered the decision to proceed with an orange order parade along the Garvaghy Road subject to conditions was a lawful decision.

Mr Justice Humphreys' nine-page 2am judgment in Belfast High Court - the final and key ruling on the Drumcree parade - has now been published. The judge found the residents' grounds of challenge to the Parades Commission verdict were "unarguable". judiciaryni.uk/files/judicia…
It’s a sign of just how far mighty unionism has come that they are being led at Drumcree by someone who once had 167 votes to his name.
