All the perks you enjoy today, be it a 9-to-5 job, maternity benefits, equal pay, paid leaves, PF, health insurance, etc., were once fought for. And communists fought for them, not right-wingers. Tell me just one everyday perk that right-wingers fought for.
The communists have long been the ideological anchors of the Congress, from Nehru to Rahul Gandhi. Knowing that their limited electoral appeal would never give them power nationally, the Left found in Congress a larger, more acceptable political vehicle to advance its ideological agenda. Under Rahul Gandhi, this relationship has acquired a new dimension. Congress increasingly draws from the radical fringes of Left-wing activism. From Kanhaiya Kumar to the wider activist politics associated with Umar Khalid, and now Neha Bora, new ideological faces are borrowed to inject political energy into Congress. Their prominence may come and go, but the Gandhi family’s hold over the party remains unchanged. There is a fundamental contradiction in the communist approach to democracy. Institutions are independent only when ideologically aligned. Electoral verdicts are legitimate only when favourable. Otherwise, institutions are discredited, mandates questioned and revolution romanticised. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar recognised this danger. Referring to the communists’ opposition to the Constitution, he observed, “They condemn the Constitution because it is based upon parliamentary democracy.” He warned against the “Grammar of Anarchy”. The hypocrisy extends to street protests. Many who once condemned mass mobilisation for Ram Janmabhoomi now glorify street demonstrations as democracy’s highest expression. Peaceful protest is a constitutional right, but it cannot substitute for the people’s mandate. Want to change a government? Convince the people. Win elections. Prove your majority in Parliament. There is also the enduring elitism of communist politics. Always speaking in the name of the poor, yet often disconnected from their aspirations. While millions of poorer Indians have benefited from Modi’s welfare delivery, sections of the urban, English-speaking ideological elite presume that their protests represent the conscience of the nation and want to essentially snatch away the real mandate of the poor. Thankfully, India is much larger than Delhi’s activist circles. The people of India rejected authoritarianism during the Emergency. Their democratic instincts remain as strong today. The true test of democracy is not whether you respect an institution when it agrees with you, but whether you respect it when it doesn’t. Not whether you accept an election you win, but whether you accept one you lose. Democracy belongs to the people of India, not to any ideological establishment or political dynasty. It’s incumbent on people like us to vehemently defend our democracy from mobocracy today.

Its obvious they want to avoid Gaurav Mukhi case with this. The evidence is in the open and it would be PR nightmare

Anyone who visits rabies ward of government hospital will end up murdering a dog lover after coming outside.

I strongly disagree with this view. This works only 50% of the time. Stray animals have no place in a urban streets. Dogs deserve loving & caring homes, not suffer as strays on streets. Stray dog feeders are animal haters because no one who loves them wants to see them suffer
Replying to @LathaIC
Dog is more scared than the biker too. they way it ran back. If a dog chases you on a bike, slow down or stop completely, and put your vehicle between you and the animal as a physical barrier. Avoid trying to outrun the dog, as this triggers its predatory chase instinct, and use a loud, firm voice to command it to stop

This mentality is why India will never progress. Stray dogs chase you? Do this 20 steps to be careful. Poor roads? You should be driving better. Powercuts? You should buy inverter. The problem is always you, don't question the government.

Schools don't have teachers, hospitals don't have doctors, water has uranium, air is polluted, deforestation is at an all time high, the rupee is at an all time low, petrol prices are at an all time high, manipur is burning and after being the world's second-largest sugar exporter, we are now an importer. But yeah, let's talk about Vande Mataram.
"Even after independence, Vande Mataram was not accepted, this is unfortunate." — Amit Shah, Home Minister of India

This is not a civic sense problem. Hear me out. This is a class / dignity divide. They clearly are labourers, and they've paid for a Metro ride. They've entered dignified commute. They have a ticket and are entitled to AC. When they sit down on the floor, they do it because that's how they are conditioned. Niche baith, upar mat dekh. Bhaiye Bihari, ya majdoor, tu layak nai hai seat pe baithne. Hence they just sit. Look at the area they are consuming. Compact. You really need to tell them politely ki yaar, khade reh, hak hai tera. Mat farsh pe aise baith. Tu paisa diya na? Sur upar rakh, kandhe se kandha dekh. It will take them time because we really are a fucked up economy. But inko villain mat banao. Inko respect do. Pyaar se bol sakte hai, pyaar se utha bhi sakte hai.
How should we perceive this? Do we feel pity for people who have to sit on the floor of a metro after a busy day, or should we be angry at those who treat public transport this way? What do you think? 💭

This is the real cost of your shiny stainless steel bowls and pots. Dudes covered head to toe in metal dust, no mask, no nothing, grinding away so the rest of us can buy cheap kitchen stuff. Lungs getting wrecked every single day while the finished product looks clean and perfect on the shelf. India’s informal workshops don’t hide it… we just choose not to look.

ABHIJEET SENDS THE PROFANITY FIR STRAIGHT TO BJP’S IT CELL 🚨 MANISHA: Primetime channels are now fixated on the language students used. How do you see it? ABHIJEET 🔥: BJP MPs have abused colleagues in Parliament. Yogi insulted a cameraman and Modi used “₹50-crore girlfriend.” Why does moral policing begin only when students speak? MANISHA: So abusive language should simply be ignored? ABHIJEET ⚡: Correct the children and move on. Do not criminalise them. If abuse deserves FIRs, BJP’s IT cell should be first in line for targeting women while proudly displaying “followed by PM Modi.”

The "Middle Class" was a 50-year fluke designed to prevent a communist revolution during the Cold War. Now that the threat is gone, the elites are systematically dismantling it. You aren't "falling behind"; you’re being pushed back into the peasantry.

Apparently, Lamine was a bright-eyed boy until he held up a Palestine flag. Then, he became controversial. The journalists who make a living romanticising athletes like Muhammad Ali are the first to punish those who try to use their voice for something meaningful today.
“Lamine Yamal is still only 18 but he is no longer the same bright-eyed boy who lit up the 2024 Euros,” writes @SamJDean. “In the two years since, that boyish charm has been replaced by a strong-voiced, politically aware, heavily commercialised and occasionally controversial man.” Read more ⬇️ telegraph.co.uk/football/202…

The hate toward Chennai, CSK, and Kollywood is often just a masked hatred, deep rooted discomfort with Tamils having their own identity & culture, something they can never truly accept.

The hate for Chennai(and TN) is because it doesn't subscribe to their "Indian" ideology & culture, they don't vote for their parties, don't speak their language & they don't take part in their "national" discourse as much. The so called cons are all a blessing in disguise.
Chennai holds virtually zero appeal for even for non-resident Tamils who grew up in major metros like Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, or overseas. Having spent my formative years on the West Coast across Mumbai, Daman, Goa, and Gujarat which sensitised me to an urban, highly cosmopolitan lifestyle mindset. But transitioning to Chennai for university feels like hitting a cultural brick wall; the city comes across as incredibly homogeneous, insular, and flat-out boring. The city completely lacks a distinct, independent youth culture. Instead, the social fabric is entirely dominated by an older demographic, conservative boomers and culture kangers who fiercely enforce traditional norms. Tamils outside TN don't do such antics themselves. Because the lifestyle is dictated by elder-approved routines, there is a massive deficit of casual public activities, vibrant nightlife, or engaging weekend avenues to build a high-quality, modern social life. The economic landscape also mirrors this rigid, old-school mentality. Chennai is highly rewarding if you are in the manufacturing or blue-collar sectors, but it is an incredibly difficult terrain for white-collar career growth. The tech ecosystem is overwhelmingly dominated by massive, process-driven IT service companies with strict hierarchies. Outside of a highly concentrated SaaS pocket, there is a severe deficit of aggressively funded, product-based tech companies or global R&D hubs, creating a definitive growth ceiling for ambitious professionals. Over the time, the emigration of highly skilled educated graduates and professionals in TN to overseas or to other cities in India is only going to intensity. It already has started BTW. And people in TN will still continue to remain the same and vote for people in TVK, DMK etc. Even the BJP in TN is the same as the other parties.
