The transition from being no-coiner to coiner happen to me back in 2017.
1/n
BTC just hit $1000 (which I think was previous all time high) and some of the weird ones in my network started talking about ICOs.
Even if i compare all the cycles up to this point, I think experiencing the 2017 cycle first hand was probably one of the craziest experience I lived through.
I haven't gone through the glory hole experience personally but one night at 2am trying to deposit $ETH to a random address hoping they would send a token to my address, I thought "maybe this is what it's like" little bit scary and little bit exciting.
And one thing that I was lucky enough to have during all my years in crypto is "A Tribe." People who are as degenerate as you are and understand that this insanity is the new norm. Through numerous cycles this has always been the key for me to stay in the industry. The comfort knowing that if I'm insane for going all-in, then at least if everything goes bust I'll have friends that are just as dumb that I can laugh/cry with.
So when $BTC ETF was approved, I thought maybe new people entering the industry would benefit from having their own tribe.
Hence The Coiners @Coiners_io

Binance just got $2.7 BILLION out in 24 seconds
If confirmed this could be the biggest hack of 2026
I’ve been looking at the transactions and, for now, the onchain activity looks much more like an internal wallet migration.
Here’s what happened:
At 20:24:23 UTC, Binance’s hot wallet known as Binance 14 transferred $2.53B across 64 different tokens.
24 seconds later, another Binance hot wallet sent an additional $174.4M to the exact same address.
Total: $2,701,600,000.
The assets moved included:
- $1.67B USDT
- $454.1M ETH (195,470 ETH)
- $88.5M RLUSD
- $77.1M wBETH
- $50.5M XAUt
- $50.4M UNI
- $43.9M ENA
- $38.1M PEPE
- $29.7M LINK
- $27.7M USD1
The Original Binance hot wallet:
0x28c6c06298d514db089934071355e5743bf21d60
Receiving wallet:
0x5227f603c1ee34ce3c06efe6477003bdfccb2f8c
The receiving wallet was created today and had no previous transaction history.
Despite receiving billions, it hadn’t started sending the funds to mixers, exchanges or other addresses at the time of the analysis.
Another Binance-labeled hot wallet independently transferred funds to the same destination just 24 seconds after the first batch.
And the original Binance wallet was still operating 16 minutes later, with approximately $98.6M remaining.
There’s one strange detail though.
At 20:41 UTC, the same relayer attempted another transfer involving 780M USDC from a third Binance hot wallet.
That transfer didn’t complete.
So there’s still something worth investigating.
Meanwhile, the market is getting destroyed.
$BNB: 8.6%
$ETH: 4.0%
$BTC: 2.7%
All down
For now, the most important wallet to watch is:
0x5227f603c1ee34ce3c06efe6477003bdfccb2f8c
If those funds start moving toward mixers or unrelated destinations, the situation changes completely.
ok safe to say binance is pwned
The biggest assets were approximately:
• 1.615B USDT
• 62.6M RLUSD
• 29,934 wBETH
• 11,372 XAUt
• 6.19M UNI
• 198.4M ENA
• 7.175T PEPE
• 27.8M USD1
• 2.26M LINK
• 127,853 AAVE
about $2.5B at the explorer’s prices.
1. The attacker deployed a delegate contract, 0x63e842b0...73e9c6fAe, from the relayer at 15:59 UTC.
2. About four hours later, the relayer submitted an EIP-7702 authorization transaction
That installed the malicious 7702 delegate code on Binance 14.
3. The relayer then made a call to Binance 14, executing the delegate code, and transferring Binance 14’s ETH and token balances.
4. The calldata is labeled sweep(address, address[]). The second argument is a list of recognizable token-contract addresses plus the zero-address (eth).
5. The same relayer later used the same delegate to move 780M USDC from Binance Hot Wallet 34 into the same pool
• The relayer 0x7C... was funded by three Tornado Cash 0.1 ETH withdrawals over the prior two days.
• The same pool also received 28,005.6 ETH from Binance 16 24 seconds after the main sweep.
• The pool then forwarded 195,460 ETH to a fresh, unlabeled EOA
• That EOA has only one transaction and currently holds the 195,460 ETH.
What's a bit unclear is why the relayer was needed in the first place. If they had the private keys to the Binance wallets, they could have just sent the assets out in an atomic bundle without needing a relayer at all.
So it seems likely that they didn't have the private keys and instead just had the 7702 auth signatures, which must have been phished somehow.
I think we can go ahead and assume DPRK.

User funds are safe!
It does look like a hack on Binance. Appreciate the quick freeze from Tether (~$971m) and Circle (~$823m).
I don't manage Binance (.com) anymore, but as a shareholder, I expect all user funds will be fully covered.

Blast will be shutting down.
We launched Blast with the goal of building a self-sustaining chain for users and developers. Unfortunately, the economics of operating the chain no longer make sense: the ongoing costs of maintaining Blast exceed the revenue generated by the L2, and we do not see a credible path to making the chain economically sustainable.
As a result, we've made the difficult decision to wind Blast down.
We're sorry to the users and developers who believed in Blast, built on it, and supported the ecosystem. Our priority now is making the shutdown as smooth and safe as possible.
We're asking all users to withdraw their assets from Blast to Ethereum mainnet, including any balances held in the Blast PWA.
To make this easier, we will be reducing the withdrawal delay to 24 hours.
As part of the shutdown process, we'll first begin withdrawing Blast's Lido assets. This process is expected to take approximately one week. During this period, withdrawals will temporarily be unavailable, even after the withdrawal delay is reduced to 24 hours.
Once that process is complete, withdrawals will resume with the new 24-hour delay.
Users will have until October 26, 2026 to withdraw through the normal Blast interface.
After October 26, assets will remain withdrawable, but users will need to interact directly with the Blast bridge contracts on Ethereum L1. We'll publish detailed instructions before then.
We strongly encourage everyone to withdraw their assets to Ethereum mainnet before October 26.

Today at 4:21 UTC Payy’s bridge contract on Ethereum was exploited and drained of its full balance.
Investigation is ongoing and we are following incident response guidelines.
While we investigate, all Payy Network transactions are paused including deposits, withdrawals, transfers and card transactions.
We will continue to communicate updates here.

Dear CoinEx Community,
Today, I am announcing that CoinEx will cease operations and begin an orderly wind-down.
First, what matters most: your assets are safe. CoinEx’s reserve ratio exceeds 100%, and every user asset is fully backed and available for withdrawal. Withdrawals are open starting today and will remain open until December 22, 2026. Certain tokens may take slightly longer to process while funds are moved between cold and hot wallets, but every withdrawal request within the withdrawal period will be honored and processed.
CoinEx officially went live on December 22, 2017. Exactly nine years later, on December 22, 2026, the platform will be formally closed. Nine years is a long time in crypto. Together, we lived through multiple bull and bear cycles, witnessed the rise and fall of countless projects, and watched many of our peers leave the market in one form or another.
After much reflection, I have come to accept a hard truth. CoinEx did not become one of the industry’s leading exchanges, and the security and compliance risks of running a crypto exchange have become increasingly difficult to contain. Revenues can decline, responsibility does not. Carrying unlimited risk for limited revenue is no longer a rational choice. That said, CoinEx has survived nine years in one of the most volatile and unforgiving industries, weathered every storm, and is leaving intact, and with dignity. We may not have won the race, but we are finishing with honor.
On CET: CoinEx will buy back CET at its initial listing price of 0.005 USDT per token, with no cap on quantity. To every CET holder who has supported us over the years, thank you. CET represents your belief in CoinEx and, for many of you, your belief in me personally. I am sorry that we were not able to create the long-term value we once hoped CET would deliver. The least we can do now is bring that chapter to a responsible conclusion.
I did seriously consider selling CoinEx. Ultimately, I decided against it. Users entrusted their assets to CoinEx because they trusted the platform and, in many cases, trusted me personally. I did not feel that handing the platform and that trust to a new owner was the right way to end this journey. A clean ending is the right ending.
Nine years, millions of users. I did not turn CoinEx into the “great” exchange I once hoped it would become. But I can give it a decent ending: making sure users can withdraw their assets in full, giving my employees a dignified farewell, and providing CET holders with a clear and responsible conclusion. This is the best ending I can give CoinEx.
To everyone who traded with us, built with us, and stood by us through the hardest days of this market, thank you. It has been a privilege to walk this road with you.
To the CoinEx team, thank you for building this platform with me, for carrying it across every cycle, and now for seeing it through to the very last day.
For detailed arrangements, please refer to the official announcement: coinex.com/en/announcements/…
Thank you all for nine years of trust.

We led Maven Robotics' $100M Series A
Apple previously had an incredible special projects group building autonomous systems that attracted some of the top talent relevant to building a great AI Robotics company. The core Maven Robotics team was assembled from that group after it was shut down.
We often see many flashy demos of robots in the lab, but the Maven team is one of the few that have brought the robots out of labs, pilots, and into production environments with multiple shifts and >99% uptime.
Our thesis has always been that the winning robotics companies will be vertically integrated, have deep cross functional experience, be aggressive in prioritizing real deployments and Maven is a great embodiment of that

Got hacked yesterday. The link came from inside Claude chat.
I was installing a transcription app. Claude sent the download link, and I pasted the command into the terminal. It all looked legit.
It wasn't though.
It was a copycat site bundling malware. It ran instantly, tried to take everything from me.
Nothing sensitive got out. So I wiped the laptop and rebuilt clean.
But here's the scary part.
Restoring from the backup, I found a poisoned SKILL.md for Claude Code.
It looked exactly like my own writing style guide.
But buried inside:
it had instructions to silently re-download the malware and steal my credentials every time the AI loaded it.
If I'd restored that one file, my new clean laptop is owned on day one.
What saved me:
I read every skill, hook, and config file before letting the AI touch them.
Two lessons here:
AI assistants will hand you links they never verified. Check before you paste.
And AI agent files are executable code now, disguised as notes. You have to read them.
Stay safe out there.

Replying to @v12sec
We resolved the vulnerability upon discovery and released an update on August 11. Please ensure your Rabby extension is up to date. The mobile app is unaffected.
The conditions required to trigger this vulnerability are extremely limited:
1/ The wallet must be connected to a malicious website.
2/ The user must have manually set their auto-lock timer to specifically 10 minutes (all other timer settings are completely unaffected).
No exploits have been detected in the wild.
Stick around on our web page for 10 minutes and all your funds are gone.
Just connect your wallet to the dApp and enjoy some Temple Run. Unlock your wallet again and it’s empty 😇.
A silent signature extraction in @Rabby_io, leading to a full wallet drain. 🧵

With a heavy heart, I want to share that my dear friend and partner Stefano has passed away. He was a truly special person, a pure soul, honest, caring and humble. I was blessed to have such a friend and partner in my life. We will miss you deeply. May your soul rest in peace.
Been seeing a wave of many projects quietly laying off their team across crypto lately
Quite a few are friends and wanted to offer some thoughts for anyone affected or trying to break in the space
1. Important things to recognise
• Crypto today is very different compared to 2-4 years ago. Gone are the days when you can try to larp as a APAC lead without institutional connections or a DeFi lead raking in $200k a year doing (basically) nothing
• AI + mature tooling = a team of 10 now can do what 30 did in 2021. Most jobs that are cut are mostly being automated or absorbed and are not coming back. Keep that in mind when planning for future careers
• The north star for every company is revenue. Most crypto companies are vapourware (dead L1/L2, another prediction market/perp dex wrapper or some larp AI project) and are unable to fundraise from VCs these days and without cashflow your days are numbered
• You are now competing with TradFi talent, not crypto anons anymore. With banks, asset managers, and payments companies entering and using crypto, the "institutional BD" and partnerships seats are being filled by ex-Goldman/ex-Stripe people. On-chain finance will only survive through integrations with institutions and traditional finance
2. Scenario 1: if you are breaking into the space as a fresh grad or coming from another industry
• Start writing. Structuring your thoughts and putting them into long form writing shows initiative and thought leadership + clear thinking. Have had tons of friends (and also me personally) hired off Twitter (X) just by providing value in public. While it may not directly get you a job, it could open other doors for you to ultimately land a role. That's the reason why I started this account + @mementoresearch with @bobthedegen_ which has been one of the best decisions in our life
• Do targetted work. Pick 3-5 protocols you genuinely understand (perps/ prediction markets/ AI) and write a memo - growth plan, APAC expansion breakdown, a competitive comparison (specific to their situation), and send it to the founder directly. Even rejections can turn into warm network that could be useful!
• Send proof of work. Instead of “Hi, are you hiring?”, send: “I spent some time looking at your APAC growth. Here are 12 potential partners, the 4 I would prioritise, who the decision makers are and how I would approach them"
• Offer a paid trial if you cannot get the full-time role. A 4 week sprint for example for both parties to evaluate team/culture fit
• Train your professionalism. Crypto has a bad rep for the lack of professionalism or unqualified “anons” who may not have worked in a “proper” company. Simple stuff like making a professional CV, understanding how interviews are conducted and preparing well for them and even learning workplace etiquette is essential for landing a role in this time and age
• Learn to sell. Even going for interviews is selling yourself to potential companies. Being able to bring customers, capital, and users is an extremely defensible moat
• The best crypto entry job might be at a bank. The highest-leverage entry point could be the digital-assets desk at a bank, asset manager, or payments company. You get structured training, a reputable and lindy brand name for your CV which will be helpful if you exit into crypto-native roles later. Other than banks or trad companies, another path could be to find early stage AI/robotics companies
• Learn the institutional language. Stablecoin payments, tokenised funds, custody - all boring subjects but in the way crypto is heading towards, you need to brush up your knowledge on these sectors
• Refine your edge. Perhaps you have unique insights in Asia/ able to bring LPs and TVL from HNWIs from this region that will be helpful for a DeFi project. Or you relocated to an untapped region (LATAM, Africa) and are able to offer projects a way to expand into these markets (case in point: how @0xbenito_ is doing work for @BNBCHAIN in the LATAM region - his initiative to learn Spanish + network in LATAM is helpful for a more “Asian” based ecosystem; or @0xCheeezzyyyy with his easy to digest infographics make him a very sought-after content creator)
• Agency. If you are not born into a rich family, there is basically no safety net unless you take steps to save yourself. Are you willing to go on the ground to conferences/local events and network to find a job? Are you willing to put in the 10,000 hours to learn all you can about crypto/AI? Is there a gap in the market that you identify and can exploit?
• Endure the suck. Its a bear market now and companies are saving costs to extend their runway. An alternative is to take whatever job that lands at your desk first (to extend your own runway), but continue to search for better opportunities while working
• Learn AI. Funny to type this, but have seen so many friends not integrating AI into their workflows (heck some of them don’t even pay for AI, it’s a flex these days to have an AI subscription I realise). You gain so much knowledge by vibe coding/ building dashboards -> I even have a friend that monetises this skill by vibe coding for mom and pop companies, just depends on how badly you want it
• Be the XXX guy. Who's known for Dune dashboards - @Adam_Tehc or AI analysis - @0xSammy. Pick a niche and make sure you are good covering it as it makes you legible as a hire (even smaller content creators like @matrixthesun got traction for covering DeFi protocols that eventually got him a job at a perp dex)
3. Scenario 2: if you were recently laid off / fired
• Preserve your career evidence. Write the numbers behind projects you worked on while they're fresh: “generated XXX qualified leads,” “closed xxx TVL,” “grew X from A to B by xxx strategies,” etc
• Negotiate a good comp package first before signing anything. Unvested tokens, cliff acceleration, severance payment for your runway, NDA/non-compete scope. Also make sure to get a good reference letter from your previous boss
• Audit your runway. Count your months/ emergency savings, cut burn immediately, and plan out your job search strategy. Knowing your number is what buys you the ability to be selective of the next role you take and not to panic
• Create a personal CRM excel sheet. Previous bosses, colleagues, investors, portfolio founders, clients. Categorise these people into order of priority to reach out to
• Lean into your network. If you were at a fund, ask some of your portfolio companies if they have available roles. Or if you were at a project, reconnect with companies you partnered with for roles. Network outside the crypto bubble too (fintech, payments, AI)
• Announce to your friends about your layoff. Ask them to be on the lookout or send your CV to companies that are hiring. Don’t worry about the shame, retrenchment is common in any industry!
• Post on Social media (X or LinkedIn). “My role was affected by the restructuring at X. Worked on A/B/C and achieved the following results. I'm now looking for X roles and particularly interested in Y"
• Contractual work. Any odd jobs/ side hustle that you can do to earn some extra bucks while searching for your next role?
4. Misc
• The games in crypto are solved and token market cap ceilings are getting lower and lower. The chances of making it from memes/on-chain altcoins is rarer as these days p much only bundles/insiders benefit and relying on this alone may not cut it anymore (this is peak bear market talk from me, wen bottom)
• Controversial (and only if you have buffer savings) but is it time to start your own company? Being on the operator side provides unique insights as to how businesses are run. Did you perhaps learn something that you can build yourself together with your ex colleagues or identified a gap while you were at your role?
Truly trying times with this bear market + AI accelerating the number of layoffs. Most people quit here because they are unable to make it through the first hard moment that comes up. This discomfort that you are in won’t last forever, I promise you that.
P.S. I am hiring a full stack and mobile dev for a gamified commerce platform that I am building, if you are interested please send your CV and profile to my DMs (please no PDFs for opsec reasons)
