Let’s be the ones telling our own story.

Yeah, wording on @NIPSCO’s website is tricky “Storm restoration efforts related to the Aug 11 storm are substantially complete. While crews continue working through a limited number of individual cases, restoration activities have concluded across the broader service territory”

Now I’m just curious about something. If people are just finding out, the weather head was damaged and that needs to be replaced at the homeowners expense although thank you for legacy foundation for doing this for free.
Does NIPSCO not count that home is being out ? They won’t restore power until the weather has replaced which I also think is bull cause let’s go put in these new meters and weather heads in the past year.

As of 4:45 p.m there are 8853 NIPSCO customers without power. 6,882 of them live in Gary. @fox32news
Gary poets, artists, & all helpers:
BE ENCOURAGED
(i’ll try to have your back)
STAY HYDRATED!
(obviously)
GET YOUR REST
(when you can)
Gary poets & artists I’ve known since they were teens have stepped up in ways that deserves celebrating. They don’t know it yet but when I get my settlement check we’re all going into the recording studio. The world will HEAR THEM.
Greatest largest and most beautiful communitarian act of city-wide mutual aid I’ve ever witnessed. Bottom up, top down, block to block.
That is the story of Gary, Indiana after the derecho. Get it right or shut up.
My Occupational Therapy was postponed until tomorrow (I was nearly killed by a Chicago driver two months ago.) I may rant all day about how the information struggle is doing us in Gary and NW Indiana wrong.
DONT FEED THE CLANKERS!
What’s sad here is that many of those were posted with good intentions, but ultimately they end up doing us harm.

Detroit had Motown. Chicago had Chess Records. Gary, Indiana? Gary had STEELTOWN RECORDS, who first discovered the JACKSON 5! Today's Substack is all about the history of that DIY label and how they are a special part of Rust Belt music history. Link in the comments below! -Mr. P
