TODAY IS DIA DE LOS MUERTOS!
The Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday on November 1–2 that celebrates and remembers deceased loved ones through altars, offerings, food, and festive gatherings. Last year an event called LuchaBoom Dia De Los Muertos in Detroit combined pro wrestling with a celebration of the Mexican tradition.
June 24, 1987 - I love The Hype in these two Canadian wrestling ads - "If you have a badheart or a weak stomach, stay at home". "They'll be talking about this match for years". "The undefeated morbid mass of muscle".
BRUNO SAMMARTINO vs KEN PATERA for a WWWF event at The Philadelphia Spectrum on March 25, 1978. (Sent in by Tony Farina)
The most talked about magazine each year is The PWI 500 with the editors' ranking of the best 500 wrestlers of the year. While there's always controversy over the top picks, most independent wrestlers would give anything to be anywhere on the list.
GORILLA MONSOON reminds us that wrestlers don't get paid by the hour with this record breaking 39 SECOND WIN over MOOSE MONROE in Philadelphia.
-- May 4, 1976 - Andre The Giant and Chuck Wepner compare fists before fighting a mixed wrestler/ boxer bout on June 25, 1976 at Shea Stadium, New York.

Absolute banger theme and announcement by @GaryCappetta
Heya Dave . . . I'm going to bring some understanding to your confusion . . . While the answer to your question seems like it would be simple, the answer is dependent on circumstances and judgment . . . If the match is televised when the action occurs, then the commentators take over. Speaking over the play-by-play guys should never happen . . . But whether the match is televised or not, the action between wrestlers always is more important than what a ring announcer has to say. Fans will get quiet to listen to what the ring announcer says which interferes with the reaction that the wrestlers are working hard to elicit . . . So, I'd never interrupt the flow of the action which would undermine the reaction that the wrestlers are trying to achieve . . . Make sense? . . . There's more to ring announcing than just talking . . . Comes with experience and understanding your role . . . Thanks for following my page! . . . gmc

I never understood, and still don't .. when either a brawl breaks out before the introductions or after the match, why do the ring announcers stop? They can still make announcements outside the ring. What's the reason for stopping? To add more drama? Thx
Thank you for your kind comments . . . Like everything else, styles of ring announcing evolve . . . It's a personal taste . . . Thanks again! . . . gmc

I was a wwf kid in the 90s but when I go back and watch the wcw stuff in the vault your announcing was awesome. The announcing today is unbearable. Part of the reason I can barely watch anymore.
