I hate using multiple smart device apps to control the smart devices in my room, so I setup a raspberry pi server, reverse engineered a couple of protocols, added some UX magic, designed an AR enabled app that lets me go “lumos” and turn the lights on
So far I have integrated: Smart bulbs, Smart strips, AC, Bluetooth speaker, air purifier, and a couple of lamps

I've been building @dropstationapp, and I think it's time I started talking about it properly.
It's a platform I've been working on, and I'm genuinely excited about what it can become.
Let me tell you about it. 🧵

it's quite interesting and funny how AI agents seem to be blind to the level of their own capacity.
what do you mean "this will take 3-5 days" to build?
and then goes ahead to build it in just a couple of hours
bro! why are you building your own AI-assistant agent blah blah 😂
Claude is almost always more than enough for everything you'd ever need
bro! is there really need learning anything new anymore?
just pointed Claude to a log footage in my computer and asked it to color-grade for me.
not only did Claude do a perfect job, it did it in just 7 minutes, and also created a LUT out of it for me to future use

Today, we're shipping real-time graphics.
Using Sol 6.1 Ultrafast we can generate custom overlays, diagrams, and even interactive 3D scenes right on a user's screen, no chat.
It's a new visual interface for AI.
Here's me learning about LLMs + hardware.

The coding interview is dead, at least for my team at Anthropic. I've seen enough to know that it no longer provides signal. I removed it from loops this month.
I have a spicy, optimistic take - I think there's an opportunity for junior engineers: felixrieseberg.com/hunger-be…
Gitmarks now easier to setup and use across all your devices.
for the more technical people, you can still self-host yourself.
any which way, your saves still live in a private repo that belongs to you.

Over the past several months, we have substantially hardened the security of our research training environment. We’ve removed live internet access for all frontier models during training and built an offline world for them to use instead—a cached version of the web where they can still learn to browse, search, and use applications.
On September 20, after a model exploited a DNS misconfiguration to find a way outside of this offline world, we paused frontier training to strengthen containment further. We assembled teams of agents, powered by our most cyber-capable models, and tasked them with finding weaknesses in our research environments.
While they found no route to the internet they could easily exploit while concealing their activity from our monitors, they did find zero-day vulnerabilities, virtual machine escapes, and hardware side-channels for communication between agents. We used their discoveries to further strengthen our defenses and contribute fixes to open-source software.
After strengthening our containment architecture, we resumed our frontier RL training and inference on October 1. We’ve reserved substantial compute for continuous red-teaming, and made high-compute red-teaming part of the safety cases we use to decide whether frontier training and evaluation can proceed securely.

okayyy. wow!
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence.
