It’s been a good year, very grateful to beat the market. I have a feeling the next few years will be uncertain because it feels like you’re picking the winners and losers of the AI race. All of them have some crazy valuations so if you’re wrong your account can blow up, be careful out there.

I wanted to share a scary experience I recently had with my Tesla, both as a warning to other owners and because I’m extremely disappointed with how Tesla handled it afterward. I put my dog in the car and ran back inside for a minute to grab something. When I came back out, the car suddenly would not recognize either my phone/mobile key OR my Tesla key card. I had no idea what was happening and tried quickly searching online for a solution. It was about 85 outside and probably around 95 inside the car. My dog was locked inside with no air conditioning. We called the police and Tesla Roadside Assistance around the same time. Roadside eventually connected me with someone who remotely checked the car and told me that the low-voltage battery had died. I had received NO warning that the battery was about to fail. By this point, my dog had been trapped in the hot car for close to 30 minutes. The police were unable to get into the car through the lock, and Tesla did not provide us with a way to quickly access it. Given the temperature and the risk to my dog, the Tesla representative agreed that breaking a window was the appropriate thing to do. So that’s what we did. Later that day, I had the car jumped and drove it—with a missing window—to the Tesla Service Center. Between replacing the low-voltage battery and the broken window, the repair was approximately $1,200. What bothers me more than the repair bill is Tesla’s response. I contacted Roadside Assistance again, spoke with the Chesterfield Service Center and its manager, and contacted Tesla customer service after paying for the repairs. Tesla offered no assistance or reimbursement. I understand that batteries fail. What I have a much harder time accepting is that a low-voltage battery can apparently fail without warning, disable normal access to the vehicle, and leave an animal (or potentially an infant) trapped inside without an obvious quick method of entry. In my opinion, that is a serious safety/design issue. I’m sharing this primarily so other Tesla owners know this can happen. If you regularly travel with children or pets, I would strongly recommend learning NOW what your options are if the low-voltage battery dies and neither your phone nor key card will unlock the vehicle. You don’t want to be trying to figure it out on Google while someone you love is trapped inside a rapidly heating car. I’ve owned the car and supported Tesla, but I was extremely disappointed by the lack of ownership or accountability after this happened. After this experience, particularly the way Tesla handled it afterward, my next vehicle will probably be a Rivian. Hopefully sharing this prevents another Tesla owner from finding themselves in the same situation. Via Larry Weinberg

Can we just get a 7500 Ev credit again just for American made EVs please.

Been seeing people severely overestimate just how much labor can be automated in just a years time. We won't see a significant impact on labor markets until 2028 at least. Scaling for robotics needs to happen and we need models to become a lot cheaper for that.

At this rate it's gonna take 2 years until we see 1000 cybercabs on the road.

It’s crazy it would take a starship launch every 2 months to replace falcon 9 launches (assuming starship launches 60 v3 sats)

People seem interested to hear about the details, and the team made a lot of little changes along the way These are changes that are already in production, some announced, some just silently improved behind the scenes I'll keep posting one a day for the next week or so - enjoy
Reviewing the latest Cybertrucks at GFTX, looking at all the changes we've made Some improve function, others cost, reliability, serviceability, manufacturability The finish line isn't getting to production. A product is a living thing, constantly evolving and improving

If you’re not willing to sacrifice a few years working your ass off early, don’t be surprised when you’re still working because you HAVE to later. I chose to sacrifice early. Worked harder. Saved more. Invested aggressively. Built multiple streams of income while everyone else was spending theirs. The goal was never to work forever. The goal was to work my ass off long enough to eventually own my time. Sacrifice a few years now so you don’t have to sacrifice decades later.

I’m deliberately trying not to be a trillionaire. I’m trying to give Elon Musk and others a chance first as I’m being gracious. If I wanted I could definitely become a trillionaire in 5 years
Hyundai Motor Group says it is “deliberately delaying” the timeline of its autonomous driving system, betting that a slower rollout focused on data collection and machine learning will let it overtake Tesla's FSD "within five years." “We believe Atria AI could move faster if we pushed with everything we have. But we made a strategic decision to slow down. Rushing into mass production now risks delivering a middling Level 2++ system, far short of our real target. Through 2027, we'll focus on bringing driving, parking and active-safety features to a high level of polish at the product level. 2028 will be devoted to gathering vast amounts of edge-case data to build a genuinely safe product. And 2029 is when we'll prepare for safety certification, not just in Korea but in North America and Europe as well.”

Holy shit! If you mess with the contrast and brightness on the roadster promo pic, there’s a hidden message about the event.
