Celebrating International Geodiversity Day with Geological Survey of India! Today, GSI joins the global community to celebrate International Geodiversity Day under the theme "Celebrating Geodiversity on Our Doorstep." Geodiversity is the silent foundation of our planet - encompassing the rocks, minerals, soils, landscapes, and water systems that sustain all life and drive our economy. From the towering Himalayas to ancient rocky terrains, India holds an incredibly rich geological history. As custodians of this wealth, GSI is committed to exploring and preserving our unique Geo-heritage sites. GSI's activities relating to geoheritage, National Geoheritage Sites, geoconservation, geotourism, geological collections and the development of geoparks provide an important platform for advancing the objectives of International Geodiversity Day. Today, look around your own neighbourhood, appreciate the natural wonders on your doorstep, and let's protect the ground that connects us all. #GeodiversityDay #GeologicalSurveyofIndia #EarthScience #GeoHeritage #SustainableIndia
