My mother and me. Berlin 1974. I was raised by patriotic Americans who despised dictators and bullies. They taught that there is absolute right and absolute wrong. They taught us to fight for the struggling and the weak against the mistreatment of the privileged and the strong.

Bad policy, bad character make bad politics: erratic tariffs, impulsive Iran war, blanket pardons, apparent corruption, weaponized justice, ICE brutality, mountainous deficits, hiding Epstein, abandoning allies and coddling enemies. Hoping for a course correction, for the country and for my party.

The White House's new manufacturing report names $OKLO and $TE as the companies behind the largest energy investments in its tally with ~$1.7B going toward nuclear fuel recycling and more than $500M into a Texas solar cell plant.
Pretty telling where next wave of U.S. energy investment is actually going as more of supply chain gets pulled back onshore.

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon warns a Russian victory in Ukraine could shatter global alliances, reshape the world economy, and force nations to question whether they can still rely on America. 🇺🇸
Asked what a Russian victory in Ukraine would mean for the global economy, Dimon responded:
“It could be a potential disaster.
This is the first war in Europe where a free, democratic nation was invaded by 200,000 or 300,000 Russian soldiers under the threat of nuclear blackmail.
We’ve never had nuclear blackmail before.
You’re also teaching the whole world that maybe having nuclear weapons is a pretty good thing, because people will be afraid of you, and you can abuse a neighbor if you feel like it.
Russia would be on the border of NATO. Obviously, NATO is rearming right now.
But the other thing is, it’s affecting all alliances, military alliances and global economic alliances.
And the nexus of Iran, North Korea, and China makes it very hard, in my view, for the Chinese-American relationship.
China says they’re neutral, but they’re helping. We are clearly not neutral.
If Russia wins, you might see a lot of people deciding: Will America stand up for Europe? Can you rely on them? And if you can’t rely on them, what are you going to do?
That includes economically.
Every nation is going to say, what makes me secure? Energy, food, all the things I need.
I’m worried that if Russia wins, you could see the world enter a little bit of chaos as people realign alliances and economic relationships.”

Owen Wilson says he took clothes from Woody Harrelson’s closet, gave them back as Christmas gifts, and Woody nearly cried
“I did have one Christmas where I had to go over to my friend Woody Harrelson's house ... they're opening presents and I have an idea. I kind of go out the door, like I'm going to my car, and I run around the house and I go in through the sliding doors that leads to the bedroom and Woody's closet”
“I grab a sweater, some shoes, run back around, put it in a bag, walk in, I go, 'Merry Christmas, Woody' ... He's like, 'This is incredible' ... He tries the shoes and he's like a little kid jumping up and down going, 'They're perfect. They're unbelievable'”
“And then they go back to opening presents and I kind of press my luck. I go out again, run around ... now he's almost in tears like, 'You got me more stuff' ... Then he takes a shirt out. He's like, 'Dude, this looks familiar' ... I said, 'I gave you the greatest gift of all this Christmas, appreciating what you already have'”

Ukrainians keep showing enormous courage in defending their country against Putin’s immoral and indeed evil efforts to conquer a neighbor. They have resisted now for four years and eight months and we should do all we can to help them.

This footage is from the very beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. Look at that little Ukrainian boy, walking towards the border in tears, surrounded by families fleeing a Russian invasion. Now consider the extraordinary moral bankruptcy of Trump, Rubio, Hegseth and Musk, whose message to Ukraine increasingly amounts to: “Fuck Ukraine. Russia gets our sympathy.”
Meanwhile, Steve Witkoff apparently sees Putin as some sort of humanitarian. Quite remarkable. Most people can distinguish a humanitarian from a man whose army bombs hospitals and forces children to flee their homes. Apparently, this requires a level of intellectual sophistication beyond certain members of the American establishment.
It hardly takes a magnificent imagination to work out which side these gentlemen might have found more accommodating in 1939.
“Never again” was supposed to mean something. It wasn’t a decorative slogan to be dusted off once a year while making excuses for the next dictator.
And to those who admire Russia as some glorious defender of Western civilisation, perhaps try learning something about the country. Russia has millions of Muslim citizens. It is hardly the anti-Muslim paradise some of its Western admirers imagine. Nor does Putin’s dictatorship represent the democratic freedoms they claim to cherish.
But then, understanding history, geography or basic human decency does rather spoil the pleasure of having absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
That little boy understood who the aggressor was. Remarkable how many supposedly powerful adults still struggle with it.

Clarification of the campaign ads: The One Big Beautiful Bill did not eliminate federal income taxes on Social Security benefits, overtime, or tips. For SS, it created a temporary deduction of up to $6,000 per eligible individual (or up to $12,000 for qualifying married couples) for seniors aged 65 and older. It phases out for incomes above $75,000. It goes away after 2028. No tax on tips ends in 2028 and is capped at $25,000, and excludes independent contractors. No tax on overtime only applies to the “premium portion of your pay”, (the 1/2 in “time and a 1/2”), is capped at $12,500 per person and ends in 2028.

My take: Putin gave up nothing by releasing a 74-year-old American held as a pawn for this type of moment. Putin is not a humanitarian, despite how Mr Witkoff addressed him. And whereas President Trump says he gave up nothing for Stephen Hubbard's release, you will hear all the experts correctly say that he did: busting his own sanctions for a diesel deal with Putin that could put $4 billion into his war chest; inviting Putin to the G20; and dumping Putin's victim, Ukraine, face down in the mud, as it tries to defend its sovereignty and its freedom. You’ve heard the historians call all this appeasement, going against America's own democratic values.

Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.
