❤️🇲🇼🇮🇱 Sometimes, the most powerful stories are simply about a child getting a second chance at life. Meet Shalom Nyaluge, a six-year-old girl from Malawi who travelled to Israel for life-saving heart surgery through the Israeli humanitarian organization Save a Child’s Heart. After her successful treatment, Shalom is now healthy and ready to return home to her family. Her name means “peace” in Hebrew — a beautiful reflection of the hope and healing she has experienced. This is the human side of Israel’s partnership with Malawi: Israeli organizations using their expertise, compassion and resources to touch lives and bring hope where it is needed most. We are proud to share Shalom’s story and the incredible work of Save a Child’s Heart. ❤️

🇰🇪 Happy Mashujaa Day! Here’s wishing the people of #Kenya a joyful #MashujaaDay as we honour the heroes and heroines whose courage, sacrifice, and dedication have shaped our nation. The Embassy of Israel in Nairobi was proud to serve as a key partner and supporter of the 2nd East African Community (EAC) Malaria Stakeholders’ Conference, held on 8–9 October 2026 in Nairobi, under the theme “Malaria Elimination by 2030: Are We On Track?” Organised by the East Africa Community (EAC) Secretariat and the Kenya Medical Research Institute @KEMRI_Kenya , the conference brought together policymakers, leading scientists, health professionals and development partners from across the region and beyond to advance efforts towards malaria elimination. As a key partner, the Embassy supported the conference and facilitated the participation of four leading Israeli malaria researchers, who shared scientific insights and innovations in malaria treatment, drug resistance, parasite biology and emerging research approaches. From scientific breakthroughs and new technologies to cross-border cooperation and the growing impact of climate change on malaria transmission, the discussions reinforced one important message: eliminating malaria requires science, innovation and strong international partnerships. Three years on, visiting the Nova Festival Site remains a deeply painful experience. Here, young Israelis came to celebrate life, friendship and happiness-many with their whole lives still ahead of them. Instead, they were brutally murdered by Hamas terrorists. This was one of the most difficult parts of the tour, for the Patriachs of Faith, during their visit to Israel-to stand at the site, hear the stories and witness the traces of that terrible day. Yet, through the tears and the pain, there is also hope. Hope for healing. Hope for peace. And above all, hope for a future where young people can once again gather, celebrate and simply be happy. We remember. We mourn. And we continue to hope. 🇮🇱
