Our house in Toronto had this fancy glassed wine cellar, but we are not big wine drinkers. Anyways, it had good climate control so here is my rack cellar.

I think he's right With regulatory capture we will speedrun to a new feudalist time Regulatory capture is where you pass regulation, or create government agencies to "protect the people" but in the end it helps protect companies because you stop new companies from being able to enter the market, because the cost of following regulation is too much compete for a startup Neo feudalism will mean AI companies at the top and the rest of us as serfs paying them to use AI for literally everything Next in regulatory capture will be banning open source and/or Chinese models, mark my words That's a very dangerous thing because then there will never be new AI frontier companies being able to compete again and with exponential self improving AI that means essentially no competitors in any industry ever again as they will slowly suck up money in all industries Safety concerns of AI are scary but the neo feudalism of AI with regulatory capture is a way more scary for me
Get ready for all of the investors in frontier model companies to suddenly flip to regulatory capture mode today Their investments in frontier model companies are currently at risk/capped because the biggest buyers of tokens are embracing open-source models: vertical AI companies, the government and enterprises That’s all this is about: stopping open source — which I’ve been saying on the pod for two years If you want safety, you want disclosure — and open source is the ultimate disclosure process

We got attacked by secret unreleased proprietary models and defended ourselves with an open model, more precisely the @nvidia quantized version of GLM 5.2 coming from @Zai_org. Banning any open model would hurt first cyber security defenders, startups, small companies, researchers and everyone who's not a frontier lab and need on-prem affordable controlable models to compete and protect themselves. Let's not do that!

US: *restricts US AI model because too dangerous* China: *builds better Chinese AI model* Everyone: *switches to Chinese AI model* This is why restricting models probably doesn't work, it's much more preferable (for US) to have everyone on US AI models so at least they can monitor what everyone is doing Now it's China that's monitoring what everyone is doing!

I made $22 in June 2026. ⭐️ mobile app — $22 given the absurd amount of time I've dedicated to the project, I can tell you it's a massive fail I can still see a few big features I could, and hopefully will, make in order to continue progressing on it I believe a lot in the project, but I am also human, and feel burnt out of my constant attempts of trying to make things work nevertheless it is great to know people are willing to pay for your product, and I'll carry on trying to make my moves towards feeling fullfilment we never know when life decides to give us a chance, I just haven't received mine but you might receive yours tomorrow 🌿 177 👥 1507

Google removed my article about the shameful collapse of events tech company Pollen (employees lied to by CEO Callum Negus-Fancey, salaries unpaid, a seemingly deliberate $3.2M customer double charge manually initiated by CTO Brad Wright). Google decied that "Ellie Piee" claiming to live in this uninhabited island (the Bouvet Islands, zero inhabitants) claiming that my article is the exact copy of a 1998 New Yorker article (not even a sentence shared!) is credible evidence to remove my investigation about Pollen from its search results. I wrote up a new article about it: blog.pragmaticengineer.com/p…

Quite a sight to see the progress this team has made since May 28. Wreckage recovery from start to finish was completed in 9 days, and all debris has been cleared from Launch Complex 36. Huge shoutout to the team who have been working 7x24. We have started reconstruction and still plan to fly again this year. Will have more details on the new conop soon.

No, you don't get it. He does not have $1 trillion sitting in cash, it is 99% stock in his companies. To make that wealth liquid would mean selling all that stock which would swiftly destroy *both* the companies (Tesla, SpaceX, others) and the wealth. If he sold it all, he'd end up with maybe $100b max, several hundred thousand people would be out of work, the companies ruined and many of their suppliers also ruined. Okay, but now Elon has $100b in cash, and can "solve the world's problems". $100b divided by the world's 8 billion people is $12 If you were in charge, several of the most innovative industrial companies in the world would be destroyed, hundreds of thousands out of work, and space would again close to human civilization for another generation. But everyone on earth could have one nice meal and you could revel in your altruism.
