More tireless effort from @cv_cev who are advocating for not only the right to wear a respirator in healthcare but for their usage to be rightly & formally acknowledged as backed by science. The politicisation of masks is leaving ppl at risk of harm. clinicallyvulnerable.org/wp-…

Yes @andyburnham. We are counting on you. We know you know the importance of public inquiries to make change, driven by the experiences of those who suffered the most. I urge you to engage with the groups mentioned to help us help you.
So, please @andyburnham, implement the recommendations of this vital public inquiry. Don't allow institutional memory to fade again. However, most important, recognise the anguish and inequality affecting @cv_cev, @CovidBereaved, @LongCovidSOS, @LongCovidKids, and others...πŸ’”

@YvetteCooperMP @andyburnham @laurakyrkesmith care homes need to apply all possible protections for their residents. IPC reform is needed in NHS and in Care. No reform to the care system is complete without it.
This includes hospitals, schools, and care homes alike, where those least likely to have made appropriate vax responses are exposed...immunity is key. This, dwindling vaccination, reduced awareness, & false perceived attenuation prevents many vulnerable folks living their lives.

Our open letter to UK infection control leads went today. Patients can be asked to remove their FFP2 or FFP3 mask, or swap it for a surgical one, while staff can now choose a respirator if treating a patient with respiratory symptoms. clinicallyvulnerable.org/let… #RightToMask

It is disappointing that the module 6 report of the #covidinquiry does not say more about the potential of good ventilation and air filtration systems in preventing the spread of COVID drawing on evidence presented in module 3 on healthcare. Cleaner air could have enabled visits

With the greatest respect, I’m wondering what steps are proactively being taken systemically in the UK aiming to reduce transmission and harm from SARS-CoV-2?

I want to raise this again. The UK Covid Inquiry found no reason to prevent patients from wearing their own masks in healthcare. Print it out, laminate it if needed. You may wear your own masks.
The Covid Inquiry Healthcare module found β€˜no good reason to prevent patients from wearing their own masks’. @NHSE_WTE please help the NHS workforce to implement this after recent reports of people in Kent being asked to remove their FFP2/3 masks for surgical masks #MenB

Holy flipping cow. Symptomatic NHS staff *looking after immunocompromised patients* no longer need to test for Covid. Absolutely astonishing. This will kill patients. Beyond horrifying.

⚠️COVID IN ENGLAND The temporary lull in Covid cases is most definitely over. PCR positivity has soared in recent weeks & is now up to 7.26%. Everywhere I go, I hear a cacophony of coughing… …and my kids’ classmates have been dropping like flies with β€˜mystery’ illnesses.
The PCR positivity map is out and there's been another significant jump in positivity both in England and in Scotland. Testing is increasing but more slowly than needed: ~15k in England, 4K in Scotland. jamestindall.info/skeuomorph… 1/7

This is very shortsighted, below. There is a consultation about it. Can I encourage all those who understand (ie the Covid aware) to participate. The link to the consultation is the second tweet in the link below

But summer-proofing must mean more than cooling. We need healthy indoor environments: - Effective ventilation - Appropriate cooling - High-quality air filtration - to reduce BOTH infectious airborne diseases and pollution, including wildfire smoke. 5/

When will the press stop presenting a binary choice? the debate was never simply about whether schools should be open or closed. It was about whether they could be kept open safely, flexibly and fairly - to provide education and support for every child.
