Year 5 had a fantastic time visiting Rivington Pike as part of our Geography unit! We loved exploring the area, taking in the amazing views and bringing our learning to life. What a wonderful adventure! 😊 #Geography #OutdoorLearning

This week #year4 have been investigating melting points. They enjoyed #workingscientifically to make predictions and use their results to draw conclusions. #primaryscience

Our children are having a fantastic time being introduced to #fencing as part of our after-school club with @keypesports ! It’s wonderful to see them developing new skills, building confidence and enjoying something completely new.

In #Art, #year5 explored a range of mixed-media techniques, inspired by #birminghamstreetartist Mohammed Ali, to help us decide how we would like to create our #mural.

This week in Computing we have be learning about how we should act when on the Computer. The children came up with lots of ideas about being kind to each other. Year 1 then drew their ideas on the iPads.

#year6 were very pleased to have the opportunity to ask our local #MP @kirith_ae questions about her work as an MP, her environmental stance and her impact in and around #Bolton this morning! @HouseofCommons

#Year2 had a fabulous trip to @RHSBridgewater which was linked to our #science learning about #plants. They were amazed by the variety of shapes and colours and learnt so much about our #naturalworld

#Y6 began their new #History topic by exploring how HUGE History is! Using a giant timeline, they discovered that the history we usually study is a fraction of the story. Dinosaurs didn't even fit on! It was a brilliant way to put timescales into perspective!#chronology

Year 6 are looking forward to their end of year play! Preparations and props are well under way!

Year 2 have made a great start with the annual historical enquiry. This year, we are investigating the different foods people ate when celebrating. Year 2 are researching 1666 and made some great findings!

🌈 Some of our children and staff had a fantastic time taking part in a Colour Run yesterday. Everyone had lots of fun, showed great enthusiasm and teamwork and returned to school covered in colour and smiles. What a brilliant event! #schoolgames

Y4 took part in a fantastic clay sculpting workshop as part of Art Week. We had great fun developing new artistic skills, including pinching, scoring and shaping clay. We created a range of delicious-looking food sculptures. We are very proud of our creative work!

We had a lovely afternoon at Smithills Hall with two very artistic pupils taking part in an art workshop exploring patterns. The pupils designed and created their own picnic cups and plates, showing fantastic creativity and imagination. #ArtWorkshop #Creativity #SmithillsHall

This week our Nursery Class have been learning about growing seeds. We want to grow flowers to attract butterflies to our garden like Ben in the story, 'Ben's Butterfly Garden' #Nationaltrust We also went on a flower hunt to see what was already growing.

#year6 have chose #alicewhyawhy as their class novel this half term, thanks to @HarperCollinsUK! They are excited to begin the reading challenge as they follow Alyce on her adventures!

What a fantastic day at Smithills Farm for our Reception class! We loved feeding the animals, learning how cows are milked, enjoying donkey rides, and taking a tractor ride to help feed the donkeys. Such a fun-filled day for everyone! 🐄🐴🚜

Year 3 had great fun in our Music lesson this week. We played the Bamboo Tamboo and created some fun rhythm's!

Year 4 had a fantastic time yesterday at Bolton Museum, where they explored the fascinating history of Ancient Egypt. The children enjoyed examining artefacts and mummies, bringing their topic learning to life before finishing the day with a trip to the aquarium! #HistoryInAction

Thanks to the Lancashire Wildlife Trust @lancwlt for delivering a fantastic seasons workshop to our children in EYFS 🍂❄️🌸☀️ The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about how animals survive through each season 🦔🦊🐦 and loved creating their own clay wildlife models 🦉
