I get this
Since my husband died, I've had a hard time with music. I have "safe" playlists that I usually stick to because the right song could derail my whole day and send me into a grief spiral.
I was filiming my pantry clean out and listening to music when my Spotify switch from my playlist to
recommended tracks and played a song that knocked the
wind out of me a little.

🚩 THE OBSESSION. THE MANIPULATION. THE AUDACITY. 😠
Her parents meet Caleb at CHURCH. Her mom thinks he’s great with kids.
“I can see you fitting in this family, Caleb.”
“I need you apart from her.”
Then comes their little “timeline” and how there’s an “urgency.”
They hadn’t even been involved that long. Let’s be fucking real. HE WAS A MARRIED MAN WITH TWO DAUGHTERS.
These two were planning their happily ever after like Ashley and the girls were just obstacles in their way.
The delusion is INSANE. 🤯

“We’re going to make a store that sells everything.”
> Great. So people can take what they want to the register and pay for it?
“No. They’re going to bring a little white ticket to the register and pay for it.”
> Oh. Okay. Then the cashier gets whatever they bought and brings it to them?
“No. Then they bring the receipt to another area and shows it to a second cashier.”
> Ah. Nice. So the stuff is waiting for them by the time they get there?
“No. Someone in the back will send it out using an elaborate conveyer belt system.”

Cinnamon Sweet Pecan Bread
Yield: 2 loaves | Oven: 325°F (163°C) | Bake: 60–70 minutes
Ingredients
1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
1½ cups (300 g) granulated sugar
1 cup (200 g) light brown sugar
4 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1 cup (240 ml) milk or buttermilk
1½ cups (170 g) chopped toasted pecans
Optional topping: ¼ cup brown sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon + ½ cup chopped pecans
Method
Grease and flour two 9×5-inch loaf pans. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
Toast pecans in a dry skillet for 3–5 minutes; cool.
Beat butter and both sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Add alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Mix just until combined.
Fold in toasted pecans. Divide between pans and add topping if desired.
Bake 60–70 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
Cool in pans for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Tip:
Toasting the pecans makes a big difference. Avoid overmixing for a tender loaf. Serve warm with butter or a simple glaze.

Good Thursday morning.
Storms never last and the humidity won’t either. But I believe sweat, sap and sawdust will be around for a long time.

A starter that rode west in a covered wagon in 1847 still rises bread today, mailed free by strangers who never met the man who carried it.
Carl Griffith kept the culture alive for seventy years after inheriting it as a boy in Oregon in 1930.
After he died in 2000, volunteers formed Carl's Friends and have since mailed out over 100,000 starts to bakers worldwide, free for a stamped envelope.
This is living history you can taste. Find bakers keeping tradition alive on Localize.
