Meet Avery! 💙
Born in July 2014 with Down syndrome, Avery spent her first 15 days at Golisano Children’s in the NICU, where her care team supported her through several early health challenges.
🧵
“The care we receive at Golisano Children’s has been exceptional,” shares her mom, Cristina. “Her providers continue to provide care that allows Avery to be her best self, and that has meant so much to our family!”
Our pediatric palliative care team marked Hats On for Children’s Palliative Care Day by visiting floors throughout Golisano Children’s!
🧵
They shared educational resources, asked trivia questions, and handed out treats to raise awareness about the role of palliative care in supporting children and families through serious illness. 🎩

Meet Killian, the “miracle baby.” 💙
Before he was born, doctors discovered a large tumor in his heart. Genetic testing confirmed he had tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC), a rare genetic condition that can cause benign tumors to grow in different parts of the body.
🧵
Now 18 months old, Killian is showing no symptoms of TSC. “The only thing he has is the diagnosis itself,” says Savannah. “He has done so well and bypassed every concern.”
Thank you to Spirit of Children and @SpiritHalloween for hosting an incredible Halloween party for our patients! 🎃💜
