Pure speculation, but I think this could be one of the biggest balance patches Deadlock has ever had. TONS of potential changes could come through on this one.
Speaking a Kane Parsons-directed Deadlock show or movie into existence
Kane Parsons says his meetings at Valve have been "abstract creative" conversations.
Asked on The Kyle Buchanan Show about his recent Valve visits, the Backrooms director, who's only 21 years old, said: "Lovely people over there. They work in experiments and I like that." The host brought up Portal 2, which Kane has called a possible dream project, but Kane didn't confirm anything.
He said the talks are mostly about whether there's anything they'd both want to make, and "if it's not, I would defend a future where they don't even go down that road." He thinks Valve is probably "looking to experiment internally" more than on anything that gets talked about, but "if something cool comes of it, I'm sure somehow people will know".

Seeing someone's ability to compete taken away from them time and time again affects me in such a visceral way. I can't stand it.
Both because I'm injury prone myself, and because I hold competition as something so sacred and equalizing, in a world that is very rarely officiated with equitable rules.
My heart truly aches for dub & others like him in sports and esports who just can't seem to catch a break with injuries or circumstance.
Really excited to see the nuance that comes through in drafts following this change. Should make for even richer match statistics.

A good reminder from ZP - I've seen firsthand how wrong this can go.
