Utah has lost a remarkable servant and I have lost a dear friend. Pamela Atkinson was my special assistant, a tireless champion for those experiencing poverty and homelessness, and a bridge-builder among people of all faiths, the Legislature, and communities across our state.
I called her Utah’s Mother Teresa because her life reflected a profound love for those in need. Pamela didn’t just talk about compassion—she lived it every day. Her kindness, faith, and selfless service touched countless lives and made Utah a better place.
Over many years, I had the privilege of working with Bishop Keith B. McMullin. I admired how his faith was a key characteristic of his inspired leadership. He became a dear friend who inspired me. Our prayers are with his dear family and all who knew him. deseret.com/faith/2026/09/30…
A gifted musician, Dolly Parton also made everyone feel like they were her best friend. She certainly made us feel like we had always known her. Her music and generosity touched countless lives and she will be greatly missed. – at Orem, UT
As we prepare to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, we reflect with gratitude on the enduring blessings of our constitutional republic. Benjamin Franklin’s enduring reminder remains as relevant today as ever: “A republic, if you can keep it.”
The responsibility to preserve the Constitution and the principles of liberty, limited government, and the rule of law rests with each generation. As we honor the vision of our Founding Fathers, let’s renew our commitment to safeguard that legacy for those who follow. #America250
Jeanette and I extend our love and condolences to the entire Huntsman family with the passing of their Matriarch, Karen. She was a major force behind much of the good the Huntsman’s have done for Utah and will be greatly missed. deseret.com/utah/2026/06/03/…
It was a pleasure to reflect on my time serving as a member of the Utah County Commission. We had a great discussion on why county government is essential and deserved our attention. Thank you to Engage Forum and my friend @PaulEdwardsUtah for hosting. – at Orem, UT
A well deserved honor for Utah’s 14th Governor, Michael O. Leavitt. The Leavitt Building recognizes the legacy of one of Utah’s great leaders. Congratulations. utahpolicy.com/news-release/…
It’s a great day when we get to spend time with Utah’s “Mother Teresa” Pamela Atkinson. Her example of Christlike service is an example to me and to us all.
Attending Alan Osmond’s funeral was life changing. His family’s messages inspired me to want to become a better person, and a better missionary. Jeanette and I pray for the entire Osmond family. deseret.com/entertainment/20…
I extend my condolences to Suzanne and the Osmond family on the passing of one of the great visionary musicians of our time, Alan Osmond. He created the Freedom Festival, helping us become better patriots. His legacy is embodied in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
I was honored to speak with @uvu Honors Program today. They asked me share experiences reaching across the political divide. These incredible students asked great questions, and we had a wonderful conversation. They gave me hope, and our future is bright.
Jeanette and I express our condolences on the passing of President @HollandJeffreyR. We love him and always looked forward to Gen Conf knowing his message would bless all who listened. We take comfort in the wonderful reunion he is having with his beloved Patricia.
It was my pleasure to sit between two great Governor, Utah’s 14th @GovMikeLeavitt and 18th @GovCox. The @UtahGOP Elephant Club event reminded me of what an honor it was to lead the greatest state in the US.
Dr. Ben Carson’s visit to the @UVUHerbertInst today was just what the doctor ordered. His thoughtful message of faith, courage, and civility is the prescription we all needed to follow. deseret.com/utah/2025/11/05/…
I am excited to hear from @RealBenCarson tomorrow at the @UVUHerbertInst forum. He will talk to us about "Turning Pain into Purpose," which could not be more timely for our campus and our community. uvu.edu/herbertinstitute/eve…
