Sad state of affairs.
The New constructed Mankhurd flyover has become a death trap for motorists. Accidents happening from day one of the opening, in wet patches due to oil oozing out of the Worst Quality of Tar used for the road.

ED, Lucknow has arrested Mohammad Azam Khan, founder of Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Trust and Chancellor of Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, Rampur, on 31.10.2026 under the provisions of the PMLA, 2002, in the Money Laundering case. He has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days by the Hon’ble Special PMLA Court, Ghaziabad.

Mumbai Mirror- How Mumbai civic activists use RTI, social media to get civic issues resolved.
RTI activist Anil Galgali said tagging relevant officials on social media can help cut through lengthy official channels and prompt quicker action.
“Recently, I posted on social media about the misuse of a parking plot and tagged the concerned officers, which yielded immediate results,” Galgali said.
He also cited his efforts to open an eight-acre public garden in Chandivali that had been closed to residents for two years. For Galgali, the key is knowing which route to take for a particular grievance.
“You need to understand where to file a complaint and where to use RTI,” he explained, adding that RTI is particularly useful for obtaining specific government records.

मुंबई के मरीन लाइन्स स्थित इरानी शिया कब्रिस्तान परिसर में पिछले 40 सालों से अवैध कब्जे और गैरकानूनी धंधों की शिकायतें थीं। कमेटी के ज़िम्मेदारान लंबे अरसे से प्रशासन से कार्रवाई की गुहार लगा रहे थे। मामला मेरे संज्ञान में आने के बाद महाराष्ट्र राज्य अल्पसंख्यक आयोग में संबंधित अधिकारियों की मौजूदगी में सुनवाई कर बीएमसी को तत्काल कार्रवाई की हिदायत दी। खुशी और इत्मीनान है कि अब पूरा कब्रिस्तान परिसर अतिक्रमण मुक्त हो चुका है। हमारी कोशिश है कि हर जायज़ शिकायत का समाधान हो और हर हक़दार को उसका हक़ मिले।

आम्हाला फक्त गोवंडी मानखुर्द ते मुंबई ईशान्य लोकसभा उमेदवारांच्या भीषण परिस्थितीकडे लक्ष वेधायचे आहे, कारण एसएमएस कंपनी, बायो वेस्ट मॅनेजमेंट कंपनी, रहिवाशांचे प्रचंड नुकसान करत आहे. कंपनीच्या कामकाजातून विषारी वायू उत्सर्जित होतात, जे आजूबाजूच्या निवासी भागात राहणाऱ्या हजारो लोकांसाठी, विशेषत: झोपडपट्ट्यांमध्ये राहणाऱ्या लोकांसाठी गंभीर आरोग्य धोक्यात आणतात.
एसएमएस कंपनीच्या कारभारामुळे निर्माण झालेल्या धोकादायक परिस्थितीमुळे गोवंडी मानखुर्द येथील रहिवाशांचे हाल होत आहेत. दुर्गंधी आणि घातक धूर केवळ असह्य नसून सार्वजनिक आरोग्यासाठी गंभीर धोका आहे. अशा सुविधेला दाट लोकवस्तीच्या निवासी भागाच्या जवळ काम करण्याची परवानगी आहे हे अस्वीकार्य आहे.
लोकसभा निवडणुकीपूर्वी या गंभीर समस्येकडे लक्ष वेधण्यासाठी आणि गोवंडी मानखुर्दच्या रहिवाशांच्या सुरक्षिततेची आणि कल्याणाची खात्री करण्यासाठी आम्ही आपण लोकांना त्वरित कारवाई करण्याचे आवाहन करतो. समाजाचे आणखी नुकसान टाळण्यासाठी SMS कंपनीच्या कार्याचे नियमन आणि निरीक्षण करण्यासाठी उपाययोजना करणे आवश्यक आहे.

If pollution is reaching Chembur and Kurla, what must residents of Govandi, living next to Deonar, be exposed to daily? RMC plants and the dumping ground remain major pollution concerns, while Deonar reportedly receives 600+ tonnes of waste daily despite the planned 2019 closure.

Yesterday when I posted a message appealing for unity & peace in today's protest I had never imagined that the biggest democracy in the world would be under an undeclared EMERGENCY.
I was happy there were so many leaders to lead the movement, but I now learn that they have all been arrested. I hope those arrested will be released soon. I will be compelled to consider an Anshan Fast or Padyatra March if they are not released by tomorrow.

BMC to map 10 air pollution hotspots in each ward:
BMC on Saturday said that it has drawn up an Air Pollution Control and Enforcement Action Plan-2026, with a focus on identifying pollution hotspots and stepping up enforcement against construction dust, road dust, debris dumping, garbage burning and vehicular emissions.
Under the plan, at least 10 air pollution hotspots will be identified in every administrative ward and mapped through updated lists. Major construction and redevelopment sites, infrastructure works, locations where garbage is burnt or debris is dumped, and traffic congestion points will be included in the hotspot list. A designated officer will be responsible for monitoring each hotspot.
The civic body has also directed its teams to inspect at least two construction sites daily. The BMC said its existing 28-point guidelines for construction and demolition sites will be strictly enforced, with violators facing show-cause notices, stop-work notices and, if required, sealing action.
