Lovely to chat to my old pal Rev Jason Lingiah at St Andrew’s Church in Bellshill today about a range of local issues. Dating back to 1762, it’s the oldest building in town I believe.

I enjoyed watching @albionrovers take on local rivals @OfficialCColts today with Rovers beating 10-man Colts 2-1. I hope the motivated team that runs the club can achieve their dream of making it a truly community facility.

I got Hannah Mary Goodlad to promise to issue guidance on data centres to councils by the end of the year. I'm not sure if it will apply to applications already in the system though. We still need clarity on that.

The @SP_TransportCom quizzed ScotRail on its shambolic new app yesterday. We have been told that as of yesterday ScotRail had received 3,967 complaints. Shocking.

Business minister Tom Arthur says the government does not support a moratorium on new AI data centres. He says the development of AI is a "profound moment for us all" that will bring implications of "gravity and magnitude" across "every facet of society".

Funnily enough there was an emphatic denial that Stephen Flynn is not across his brief from civil service media officials at "agency" Transport Scotland (it's just an arm of gov) in response to our story for Sunday

This really is disgraceful. Stephen Flynn more or less admits here that he is not on top of his briefing materials, so cannot tell the committee anything more than what has been reported in the media (this is on another ferry incident - not the one leaking gas).

Stephen Flynn didn't know about an incident on the Glen Sannox where there was a methane leak when he came to the @SP_TransportCom today. There was quite a lot he didn't know, or wasn't telling us.

This is painful to watch. A story about a serious safety fault - a gas leak - on the most controversial Scot Gov transport asset ever had been running for around nine hours on the BBC, yet the Scot Gov Transport Secretary (and his official) appear totally unaware
