Nearly 3 years in the making, alongside my brothers @RighteousReg and @65_WizardofMO, we are proud to bring to you our first short film, which will be turned into a full length feature! HARSH LIGHTS Meet Reggie Gaines, a Black man with a dream of becoming a professional wrestler. For Reggie, the struggle is not only about succeeding in a demanding sport. As a Black wrestler frequently cast as the heel - the character audiences are expected to hate - in predominantly white Midwestern towns, he must navigate the unstable boundary between staged hostility and racial animus. The boos may be part of the performance, but the history and language behind them are not always fictional. From the minds of Director, Philip Arthur Dixon, and Executive Producers, “Righteous Reg” and Hartzell Gray, “Harsh Lights” offers something different. It does not present a sanitized or commodified version of Black wrestling life,” said Dixon. “It doesn’t ask Reggie to sing, dance, or play the minstrel. It shows a Black man who chose this path out of pure love and obsession with the craft, who paid the full price for his dream, and who finally—at the top of his game, surrounded by the ruins of his personal life—has the courage to face himself." youtube.com/watch?v=sg7L6bBS…

"CMLL has some of the best professional wrestlers in the world. Fight me, if you want to. The other company might have the popular ones, but these women can go toe-to-toe with any of those men and they can fight." - Thunder Rosa (Grapsody) m.youtube.com/watch?v=u1lDOx…
