Meditation, then a dream that felt like an experiment. What I kept seeing was simple. Reality is a merit test. The octagon doesn’t care about your feelings. That’s why people flinch at it.
A lot of modern politics is built on the opposite idea: that outcomes should be managed, that grievance is a credential, that division is a strategy. That’s not justice. That’s a totem pole of suffering. Everybody climbing over everybody else to be the most harmed. A coalition like that has no center. The moment you need the loss to stay your identity, you have already forfeited the fight.
The cage is the antithesis of that. Prepare or don’t. Show up or don’t. The scoreboard doesn’t negotiate. Last night made that obvious again, and that’s why I love this sport. It still tells the truth out loud.
